Then, watch for a unique link in your email to apply.\nThe Senior Auditor, Pension Operations & Technology, is a key member of the Internal Audit team, responsible for executing risk-based audit and project assurance engagements across pension operations and technology functions. This role provides independent assurance and advisory support over governance, risk management, and control environments while contributing to OMERS' pension modernization and automation initiatives that support the organization's long-term strategic objectives. Our Pension system modernization and automation has been critical to keeping pace with the service requirements of our growing membership base and is a critical strategic objective to support our OMERS 2030 strategy.\nWorking closely with leaders across Pension Operations, Technology, Risk, and other oversight functions, the Senior Auditor delivers high-quality assurance activities, identifies opportunities to strengthen controls, and provides actionable insights that enhance organizational effectiveness and resilience. The role combines audit execution, technology risk assessment, and advisory capabilities to support a dynamic and evolving pension environment.\nAs a member of this team, you will be responsible for:\nLead and execute audit engagements from planning through reporting with minimal oversight from the Associate Director or Director, Internal Audit.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of processes, risks, controls, and strategic initiatives.\nAssess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and ensure audit procedures appropriately address identified risks and audit objectives.\nSupport project assurance reviews and technology-focused assessments related to major transformation programs, including pension modernization, automation initiatives, system implementations, and technology risk management.\nEvaluate technology control environments, including system development practices, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application controls, in multiple environments: in-house developed platforms, cloud-based and on-premises solutions.\nIdentify control deficiencies, determine root causes, assess risk implications, and validate management remediation plans.\nFacilitate discussions with management and technology leaders regarding audit observations, risk exposures, and opportunities for process improvement.\nEscalate significant risks, emerging issues, or contentious matters to audit leadership in a timely manner as appropriate.\nPrepare clear, concise, and impactful audit reports and supporting documentation that communicate key insights and recommendations to management.\nMonitor the implementation of management action plans and validate the effectiveness of remediation activities.\nContribute to the continuous evolution of Internal Audit through the use of data analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and other technology-enabled audit methodologies.\nIdentify opportunities to improve audit efficiency, enhance assurance coverage, and provide value-added insights to stakeholders.\nRequired Skills & Experiences\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline\nProfessional certification preferred: CPA, CIA, CISA, CRISC, CISSP or other relevant designations considered an asset.\n2-3 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, technology risk or assurance, IT assurance, cybersecurity, or a related field\nStrong understanding of risk-based auditing methodologies, internal control frameworks, and technology risk management principles\nExperience assessing IT general controls, application controls, cybersecurity controls, and technology governance processes.\nExperience supporting or auditing large-scale technology transformation initiatives, system implementations, or digital modernization programs.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.\nAbility to build credibility and effectively engage with managers, directors, and senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, evaluate impacts, and recommend practical solutions.\nPreferred Skills & Experiences\nAbility to build credibility and effectively engage with managers, directors, and senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, evaluate impacts, and recommend practical solutions.\nWorking knowledge of industry-recognized frameworks and standards, including COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ITIL, and related control frameworks.\nAbility to interpret data queries (e.g., SQL) and leverage data analytics to support audit testing and risk assessments.\nFamiliarity with artificial intelligence tools and prompt engineering techniques is considered an asset.\nDemonstrated ability to balance assurance, advisory, and project-related responsibilities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.\nProactive, curious, and committed to continuous learning and professional development.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.\nAbility to challenge constructively, influence stakeholders, and foster a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.The expected salary range for this position is $86,000.00 -
