This role is not feature-driven. It is about production reliability, performance engineering, and platform ownership.\n\nThe core responsibilities for the job include the following:\n\nPlatform Stabilization and Production Ownership: \nAct as L3/L4 escalation for backend/middleware systems.\nLead root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents.\nDiagnose latency spikes, Kafka consumer lag, DB contention, and memory pressure.\nReduce firefighting by fixing systemic issues.\nOwn post-incident hardening.\n\nNon-Functional Requirements (NFR) Ownership: \nOwn and enforce: Performance benchmarks, throughput targets, and high availability standards.\nFault tolerance and graceful degradation, backpressure handling, and resource efficiency.\nIdentify and eliminate risks in latency, GC pauses, lock contention, message ordering issues, and retry storms.\n\nDistributed Systems and Event Architecture: \nDesign and stabilize systems built on Golang, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Redis.\nEnsure correctness in consumer group balancing, offset management, idempotency design, retry strategies, dead-letter handling, event replay, and backpressure management.\nArchitect and optimize: Event-driven microservices, high-throughput APIs, PIs, and concurrent workflows.\n\nAdvanced Data and Real-Time Systems: \nOptimize SQL query performance under load.\nImprove indexing, partitioning, and connection pooling.\nDesign Redis caching strategies for low latency.\nWork with OLAP systems (ClickHouse + Grafana).\nOptional exposure to distributed databases (CockroachDB).\n\nProductization and Rule-Driven Architecture: \nArchitect configurable, rule-driven workflows.\nEnable admin-driven client workflow customization.\nImplement high-performance in-memory rule evaluation.\nPrevent business logic from becoming hardcoded chaos.\n\nObservability and Release Hygiene: \nImprove logging, tracing, and metrics across services.\nDefine actionable dashboards (Prometheus / Grafana).\nImprove release discipline, rollback strategies, and versioning.\nEnsure dev/staging/prod parity.\n\nVendor Transition and Codebase Ownership: \nLead structured knowledge transfer from external vendors.\nTake ownership of legacy codebases without destabilizing production.\nIdentify high-risk components and stabilize incrementally.\nEstablish backend engineering standards.\n\nTeam Enablement: \nMentor 3-5-year engineers.\nTeach production debugging.\nGuide distributed systems thinking.\nRaise code quality standards.\nAct as a technical anchor (not a people manager initially).\n\nRequirements: \n6-8+ years of backend engineering.\nStrong production experience in fintech/trading/transaction-heavy systems.\nDeep expertise in Golang: Concurrency patterns, context propagation, runtime behavior, and memory profiling.\nStrong Kafka production knowledge: Consumer groups, rebalancing, offset handling, and lag diagnostics.\nStrong PostgreSQL performance tuning experience.\nExperience handling real production incidents in live systems.\nProven NFR ownership.\n\nStrongly Preferred: \nExperience in low-latency trading environments.\nKubernetes production exposure.\nRedis performance optimization.\nWebSockets / streaming systems.\nExchange-integrated or regulated systems.\nVendor-built system takeover experience.\nSkills\nGo, Golang, Kafka, PostgreSQL,
