Its latest $120M Series C valued the company at $1.5B.\nThe Role\nWe're looking for a Frontend Engineer to set the technical direction for data visualization at Omni. You'll draw on your data viz experience to shape how customers see and interact with their data, working closely with our Product Manager, who also comes from a data viz background, and the engineers currently building in this area. You'll also design and build the visualization components and data pipelines behind that work.\nResponsibilities\nSet technical direction and North Star for Omni's data visualization capabilities\n\nPartner with the Product Manager and engineering team to translate viz strategy into shipped features\n\nBring industry best practices and experience to raise the bar on visualization quality and performance\n\nDesign and build front-end visualization components and the underlying data pipelines that power them\n\nMentor and technically guide engineers already working on the visualization work stream\n\nMove quickly and ship iteratively, refining based on customer feedback\n\nUse AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) to maximize velocity and focus on the highest-leverage technical work\n\nAbout You\n5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years operating at a senior level\n\nDeep, demonstrable experience in data visualization, ideally with industry recognition or a strong portfolio of shipped visualization work\n\nStrong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript\n\nExperience with data or business intelligence tools or applications (e.g., SQL, Looker, Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, Google Analytics)\n\nDemonstrated ability to set technical vision and influence a team without requiring formal authority\n\nProficiency with AI coding tools and workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)\n\nNice to Haves\nStartup experience\n\nExperience building data products\n\nFamiliarity with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift\n\nBackground in data viz research or academic work\n\nOur Stack\nJavaScript / TypeScript\n\nReact with Remix\n\nKotlin / Java\n\nAWS\n\nVega / Vega Lite / Echarts\n\nLocation\nThis role is based in San Francisco, or remote for candidates based near one of Omni's engineering hubs (Philadelphia, Boulder/Denver, Santa Cruz, or Seattle); final-round interviews are conducted in person.\nWhy Join Us\nPassionate, supportive team with extensive experience in the space (including founders from Looker and Stitch Data) all working together to win as a team\n\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\n\n401(k) Plan (for US-based roles)\n\nUnlimited PTO\n\nOmni is an equal opportunity employer.
