All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nInspect, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, systems, motors and pumps to ensure optimal plant performance.\nExecute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and strategic maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and operational requirements.\nConduct maintenance inspections and provide thorough, value-adding feedback to improve equipment reliability and performance.\nPerform shutdown maintenance activities safely, efficiently and within required timelines.\nApply advanced fault-finding techniques to diagnose equipment issues and identify sustainable corrective actions.\nSupport the achievement of Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) targets through effective maintenance execution and equipment care.\nMonitor, report and investigate equipment downtime and incidents on strategic plant assets.\nParticipate in spare parts management through effective utilisation and procurement support.\nConduct maintenance quality control activities, including over-inspections and PPM quality assurance reviews.\nAssist in the planning, coordination and management of preventative maintenance schedules.\nEnsure adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, statutory requirements and company safety standards.\nDrive and actively support the implementation of 5S principles to maintain a safe, efficient and organised work environment.\nCollaborate effectively with operations and cross-functional teams to support plant performance and continuous improvement initiatives.\nAccurately utilise maintenance systems, job card processes and related documentation to support maintenance governance and reporting.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nQualifications\nGrade 12 (Mathematics and Science).\nN2 or N3 Engineering qualification.\nTrade Test Certificate (Red Seal) in Fitting or Fitting and Turning.\nExperience\n2 - 5 years' experience in a maintenance environment as a qualified Artisan.\nPractical experience working with motors and pumps.\nExperience performing planned preventative maintenance and equipment inspections within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nExposure to fault finding, equipment reliability improvement and shutdown maintenance activities.\nKey Competencies\nStrong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving capability.\nSound knowledge of maintenance practices, systems and job card processes.\nKnowledge and practical application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and machinery regulations.\nStrong planning, organisation and time management skills.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and respond to operational priorities.\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills.\nHigh attention to detail with a strong focus on quality inspections and maintenance execution.\nDemonstrated teamwork and collaboration across maintenance and operations environments.\nStrong sense of accountability, integrity and reliability.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to take initiative and drive results.\nRoot-cause analysis and continuous improvement orientation.\nCoaching and mentoring capability.\nCustomer service focus and commitment to operational excellence.\nComputer literacy.\nPractical application of 5S principles.\nAdaptability within a dynamic manufacturing environment.\nDIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION\nA diverse team drives stronger outcomes.
