Through science, innovation and collaboration, we help customers use resources more efficiently, solve complex operational challenges and create lasting value for a changing world.\nAt Omnia, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts, contribute to meaningful challenges, and grow your career in a purpose-led organisation committed to innovation, learning and sustainable impact.\nInnovating to enhance life, together creating a greener future.\nROLE IMPACT\nThe purpose of the position is to assist the Process Controller in their duties and is also responsible for the safe and efficient determination of product conformance through sampling and measurement of product characteristics.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nConduct sampling and measurement of cartridges\nTo constantly conduct sampling and measurement of cartridges\nRecord results during the manufacturing process and identify defects or non-conformance of products as early as possible in the process to minimize waste and ensure quality products to customers\nStandby duties as a Process Controller\nAssist the Process Controller during start-up and shutdown and do minor maintenance of the Rota-clip machine to ensure manufacturing efficiency of 85% of design capacity. \nProcess efficiency\nSafe and timeous preparation of gassing solution during the manufacturing of cartridge explosives thus ensuring production of less than 0.5% waste.\nOptimize productivity and quality\nProactively plan for resources that may be needed during the shift to minimize downtime \nAdherence to sound SHERQ principles\nWear correct PPE\nAdhere to good housekeeping principles\nConstantly monitor the production process to ensure quality standards are met.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nQualifications\nGrade 12 or equivalent (Maths and Science)\nSuitable Technical qualification (Advantageous)\nExperience\n1 year's demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment or plant operation.\nKey Competencies\nProven written and verbal communication skills\nKnowledge of the production processes\nAbility to meet daily target\nProven computer literacy in Excel\nProven written and verbal communication skills\nSystematic\nDIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION\nA diverse team drives stronger outcomes.
