The role is responsible for delivering advanced technical expertise in blast and mine optimisation using specialised equipment such as drones, 3GSM technology, and face-profiling software. It further requires strong communication skills, proficiency in blast-monitoring techniques, effective interpersonal abilities for interaction across all management levels, and thorough knowledge of blast-engineering principles.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nProvide technical support and advice to the operations and clients about the implementation of, training on, blasts. Required Competencies:\nEffective communication skills.\nProficiency in blast monitoring techniques.\nComputer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email).\nEffective reporting on measured results\nFormal reporting on activities\nValid Driver's license.\nEffective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.\nMust be able to build and maintain good internal and external customer relationships.\nMust be willing to perform any physical work in the field related to the usage of the\nmonitoring equipment and analyse the performance thereof.\nHighly motivated self-started with unquestionable high levels of integrity.\nA strong desire to learn and progress in the field blasting technology\nMonthly reporting to Line Management on activates conducted during the month.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nQualifications\nGrade 12 supplemented by at least 3 years' surface blasting experience.\nBlasting certificate highly recommended\nBlasting ticket\nPost graduate degree in mining engineering, geotechnology or geology (Advantageous)\nTrained in the application of blast monitoring equipment (Advantageous)\nInnovative technical report writing experience (Advantageous)\nProject management (Advantageous)\nExperience\n3 years surface blasting experience.\nElectronic experience will be an added advantage.\nUnderstanding and experience in the use of detonator systems.\nUnderstanding of and practical experience in surface mining and surface blasting\nReporting\nProject Management\nMs Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email) - Desired\nKey Competencies\nBusiness Acumen\nConflict Management\nCustomer Focus\nTimely Decision Making\nFunctional Technical Skills\nDeveloping Direct Reports and Others\nInnovation Management\nMeeting Deadlines\nMotivating Others\nProblem Solving\nDrive for Result\nDIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION\nA diverse team drives stronger outcomes.
