You’ll partner with healthcare professionals, solve complex technical challenges, and grow your expertise in cutting-edge medical technology, automation, and robotics.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAs a Field Service Engineer, you will deliver high-quality service and technical expertise to healthcare customers while ensuring the performance and reliability of Omnicell solutions.\nPrimary Impact\nEnsure the uptime, reliability, and performance of Omnicell’s automation systems, enabling healthcare providers to deliver safe, efficient patient care.\nKey Responsibilities\nTroubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and resolve electro-mechanical, automation, and system issues onsite to restore functionality quickly and effectively.\n\nPerform Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance to optimize system performance and minimize downtime.\n\nDeliver Exceptional Service: Build strong relationships with nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare leaders through clear communication and responsiveness.\n\nManage Service Events: Accurately document all service activities, including repairs, escalations, and follow-ups in accordance with company policies.\n\nDrive Operational Excellence: Meet or exceed service-level agreements (SLAs), response times, and customer satisfaction standards.\n\nEscalate & Collaborate: Identify product issues, bugs, or design challenges and escalate through appropriate technical support channels.\n\nInventory & Logistics Management: Maintain trunk stock, manage parts inventory, and ensure timely return of materials.\n\nCross-Functional Engagement: Partner with internal teams to improve service delivery, product performance, and customer experience.\n\nLevel Differentiation\nField Service Engineer I\nPerform moderate-complexity troubleshooting and maintenance with guidance as needed\n\nSupport healthcare staff at the manager level\n\nDevelop foundational expertise in Omnicell systems and healthcare workflows\n\nField Service Engineer II\nIndependently perform advanced troubleshooting and system repairs\n\nEngage with director-level stakeholders to resolve complex issues\n\nProvide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior team members\n\nWho You Are\nMinimum Qualifications (Both Levels)\nCoursework or training in Network Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, or related field\n\nExperience working in a hospital or healthcare environment\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues\n\nEffective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nValid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nField Service Engineer I\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)\n\nExperience troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, or computer-based systems\n\nField Service Engineer II\nOne of the following:\nBachelor’s degree + 1+ year of relevant experience\n\nAssociate degree/trade certification/military training + 4+ years of experience\n\n7+ years equivalent hands-on experience\n\nKnowledge of FDA regulations, medical device standards, and Quality Management Systems\n\nProven ability to work independently on complex technical issues\n\nHow You’ll Elevate at Omnicell\nAt Omnicell, success is defined not just by what you do, but how you do it.
