This involves regular communication to understand their specific needs and requirements. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician Liaison also plays a crucial role in supporting the on-site Pharmacy Team. This includes and not limited to assisting in the preparation and dispensing of medications, providing customer service, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to all relevant regulations and guidelines.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nFacilitating Communication: Act as a point of contact for healthcare providers and patients, ensuring clear and timely communication regarding medication orders, refills, and treatment plans.\nCoordinating Care: Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care, including scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and arranging for medication delivery or pickup.\nEnsuring Compliance: Verify insurance coverage, assist with prior authorization processes, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to specialty medications.\nResolving Issues: Address any issues or concerns that arise during the course of treatment, such as medication side effects, insurance coverage disputes, or difficulties with medication access.\nMaintaining Records: Keep detailed records of patient interactions, medication orders, and insurance communications to ensure accurate and thorough documentation.\nSupporting Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care provided by the specialty pharmacy.\nPharmacy Technician Duties: Responsible for functioning as a Pharmacy Technician during the absences of the Pharmacy Technicians. \nUndertake additional tasks as required.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nHigh School diploma or GED\nAt least 1 year experience working as a Pharmacy Technician; or in a Medical Office; or within the Healthcare industry.\nMust be willing to obtain IL & MO State Pharmacy Technician license within 90 days of hire.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nActive Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT): PTCB or ExCPT certifications accepted.\nAt least 3 years' experience working within a specialty pharmacy environment. \nExperience submitting prior authorizations.\nExperience interacting with patients recently prescribed specialty therapies.\nExperience utilizing clinical patient management software (i.e., patient enrollment, scheduling, etc.)\nExperience in a specialty pharmacy accredited environment (i.e. URAC/ACHC).\nExperience interacting with provider groups, communicating status updates and ensuring patient experience.\nExperience with the 340B program.\nCOMPETENCIES\nStrong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively liaise with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.\nDemonstrates empathy and understanding in resolving customer service matters.\nExtremely detail oriented and able to multi-task.\nProficiency in using relevant software and systems for submitting and documenting prior authorizations for specialty medications.\nStrong, comprehensive knowledge of benefits investigation procedures and criteria.\nSkilled in engaging with provider groups, maintaining clear communication regarding patient status, and prioritizing an excellent patient experience.\nUnderstanding of REMS programs relevant to specialty pharmaceutical products.\nUnderstands the Limited distribution process for specialty pharmaceutical products.\nAbility to interact and communicate with people over the phone.\nCapacity to work independently.\nBasic data entry and/or work processing skills.\nAbility to verify data input and correct errors.\nReads and accurately interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nPerforms mathematics operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.\nCalculates rates, ratios, and percentages accurately.\nUtilizes logical reasoning and comprehension to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.\nBase Compensation: $24.00 to $27.00\n(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset.
