But... what's a media agency?\nWe’re a crucial step in the advertising industry. If clients request the ads, and creative agencies create the ads, media agencies make sure you see the ads. Our media planners strategically plan and purchase media space (tv commercials, social media and digital ads, billboards, cool brand partnerships, and way more) to target the right people at the right time.\n Key Responsibilities\nAlright... so what do designers do at Omnicom Media?\nA better question would be: what don’t we do. As part of an in-house design team, we’re here for (literally) whatever the agency and its clients want/need. We’re responsible for making the company and its agencies look as slick, professional, on-trend and impactful. Projects can (and have been) everything up to and including:\nPresentation Design\n\nEvent design\n\nInfographics\n\nLogos & Branding\n\nSocial media creative\n\nEmail blasts\n\nWebsites/microsites\n\nCreative brainstorming\n\nLiterally. Anything. Else. We take any request thrown at us and figure it out!\n\nAnd the Senior Designer role specifically?\nYou’d work closely with the Design Director and/or Project Manager to lead multi-faceted design projects on tight deadlines\n\nProduce strong design concepts and directions under a variety of brand guidelines\n\nBrief freelancers on projects and act as ambassador for design quality/consistency throughout projects\n\nReview and provide feedback for other designer/freelancers’ work\n\nEnsure design quality, consistency, and delivery by project deadlines\n\nLiaise with outside vendors/printers to ensure delivery against project timelines\n\nAid in the conception and execution of other design/branding initiatives (event design, internal culture initiatives, etc)\n\nDesired Skills & Experience\nWhat do I need to rock this job?\nSoftware & Hardware:\nBe fluent with the usual suspects (Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma-Premiere or After Effects a plus)\n\nMicrosoft Office Suite (Especially Microsoft PowerPoint)\n\nComfortable on both Mac & PCs (Though Macs are used by design team)\n\nSkills & Demeanor:\nAt least 3-5+ years of experience as a designer\n\nAn eye for layout and typography, and creative flair\n\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal\n\nExcellent organizational skills\n\nExperience in the management of design projects from concept to completion\n\nWilling to problem-solve within given design parameters, as determined by business-needs (ex. Working in Powerpoint or Squarespace) with creative design solutions\n\nYou have a healthy respect for deadlines (and know 11:23 isn’t the same as 11)\n\nYou read everything and pay attention to detail: please include your favourite ice cream flavour on your resume\n\nYou’re able to interpret facts, figures and data and turn them into visually appetizing design\n\nComfort designing under tight deadlines\n\nKnowledge of design for web & digital a plus\n\nExperience with video editing a plus\n\nPrevious agency experience an asset\n\nPlease include a portfolio of design work within your application showing a range of branding, print and digital work.\nThis is an active vacancy. We are currently hiring for this role and reviewing applications on an ongoing basis.\nExpected Salary: $65,000 - $75,000\nOmnicom Media is providing the compensation range that the company is willing to pay for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
