You will work closely with R&D, legal counsel, and external patent attorneys to ensure the company’s innovations are effectively protected and aligned with business objectives.This position reports to the General Counsel and will be located in Plano, TX, USA. \nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with R&D teams to identify patentable inventions and facilitate invention disclosures.\nParticipate in R&D teams meetings to align patent fillings with commercial roadmaps, product launches and company growth targets.\nConduct prior art searches and provide patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis.\nAssist with internal and external patent drafting and prosecution processes.\nMaintain IP databases and generate regular reports on portfolio status.\nMonitor competitor patents and industry IP trends.\nConduct regular competitive landscape assessments to identify competitor capabilities, new technology trends and potential R&D directions.\nSupport IP litigation, licensing, and enforcement activities when needed.\nAssist in IP due diligence activities for potential partnerships, acquisitions or technology transfers.\nProvide training to engineers on IP awareness and best practices.\nSupport R&D teams world-wide, including U.S. and China\n Basic Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.\nFamiliarity with patent systems in major jurisdictions (e.g., US, EP, CN).\nExcellent analytical and communication skills.\nExperience with patent search tools.\nAbility to act as a “translator” between highly technical R&D engineers and legal/business stakeholders.\nExperience in drafting high-quality invention disclosure forms and reviewing claims for clarity and breadth.\nPatent Agent qualification or IP certification is a plus.\nFluent in English.
