The ideal candidate will be passionate about workplace safety, possess strong administrative and communication skills, and contribute to OmniSource's commitment to maintaining a world-class safety environment.What We Offer\nCompetitive Base Pay + Weekly Incentive Bonus Opportunities\nFull Medical, Dental, and Prescription Insurance Plans\nHealth Savings Account (HSA) with Annual Company Contribution\nAnnual Bonus (Profit-Sharing)\n401(k) Plan with Company Match up to 50%\nAnnual Stock Award ($2,200 every November)\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan with 15% Company Match\nPaid Vacation\n10 Paid Holidays\nCompany-paid Uniforms\n…and many more!\nResponsibilities\nWhat you will doCoordinate and support safety training activities, including scheduling, preparation, tracking, reporting, auditing, and distribution of training materials.\nAssist with safety equipment management, including distribution and tracking of lockout/tagout devices, fall protection equipment, PPE, and new hire safety supplies.\nMaintain and track division safety calendars, initiatives, action items, and compliance deadlines.\nSupport the Hazard Communication Program through management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and regulatory documentation.\nAssist with Incident Management System (IMS) administration, including incident reporting, tracking, investigations, trend analysis, and recordkeeping.\nSupport internal and external safety audits by coordinating documentation, preparing reports, and assisting with corrective action follow-up.\nAssist with contractor safety management programs, including ISNetworld, Marsh, contractor onboarding, and compliance tracking.\nSupport Workers' Compensation administration, including claim documentation and communication with employees and management.\nDevelop and distribute safety communications, including Safety Alerts, Toolbox Talks, training materials, and awareness campaigns.\nMaintain safety records, reports, and databases to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.\nSupport safety personnel and operational leaders with division-specific safety programs, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.\nAssist in monitoring workplace compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidential information.\nAbility to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and external partners\n\nPreferred\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.\nOSHA 10-Hour Certification (or ability to obtain).\nCPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.\nTwo or more years of administrative, safety, compliance, or clerical experience.\nExperience working in a manufacturing, industrial, recycling, transportation, or regulatory environment.\nFamiliarity with OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation processes, contractor management systems, and incident reporting systems.\nExperience supporting safety training and compliance programs\n\nWhy Join OmniSource?\nAt OmniSource, safety is our top priority.
