{"id":336795,"url":"https://alion.io/job/omya-electrical-maintenance-technician","title":"Electrical Maintenance Technician","company":{"id":5547,"name":"Omya","domain":"omya.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/omya","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"A","score":86,"open_postings":7,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.571,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":49,"computed_at":"2026-10-12T06:55:09Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Florence, Italy"],"countries":["IT"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":38,"max":null,"currency":"USD","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":76000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":2,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-08-24T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-08-24","last_verified_at":"2026-10-12T19:46:02Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":49,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":49},"description":"Job Summary: The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of industrial electrical equipment to ensure continuous operation of the plant machinery and systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLive the Omya Values of Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, & Perseverance.\nPerform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.\nDiagnose and repair electrical problems in industrial equipment, including motors, sensors, control systems, variable speed drives, burner management, chemical flow measurement, and other electrical components and systems.\nPerform installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of equipment and systems as required.\nEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and practices related to electrical work.\nCollaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and plan maintenance activities.\nUtilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking maintenance work.\nInstallation, maintenance and routine calibration of process instrumentation.\nCollaborate with the Automation Department as needed to troubleshoot instrumentation and automation issues, as well as commission new systems.\nCollaborate with Production and Engineers as needed to troubleshoot, improve and maintain production operations.\nCreate and modify protection and control (P&C) design documents and drawings for projects, including relay functional drawings, logic diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, communications diagrams, relay panel arrangement drawings, and bill of materials.\nConduct and configure digital systems testing, including the investigation of test results and equipment calibration.\nDiagnose, troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.\nParticipate in the lay-out, design, fabrication and installation of new electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and data-systems.\nTroubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits.\nParticipate in safety training and adhere to PPE requirements.\nAssist in the development and implementation of electrical maintenance programs.\nEmbrace additional duties as assigned, contributing positively to the team's collective achievements and the company's overarching goals.\nQualifications:\nTechnical degree, certification, or approved electrical apprenticeship program.\nMinimum of 2 years of work experience under the supervision of a qualified electrician.\nProficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.\nKnowledge of electrical code and safety standards.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nWillingness to work in various conditions, including heights, extreme temperatures, noise, and dusty environments.\nAvailability for overtime and emergency call-ins as needed.\nPhysical Requirements:\nCapable of standing, walking, and climbing throughout the shift.\nAble to work at varying heights and in confined spaces, accessing all areas of the plant.\nOccasional lifting of objects up to 75lbs.\nWork Schedule:\nThis is a full-time role with the potential for overtime and weekend work.
