location\nManufacturing and industrial equipment environment\nUnionized workplace\nJob Duties\nLead process optimisation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance and stability\nAnalyse operational and production data to improve efficiency, cost performance and product quality\nDesign, develop and optimize manufacturing systems, including automation, robotics and material flows\nConduct time studies, work simplification programs and production system improvements\nPlan plant layouts, facilities and integrated manufacturing systems\nEvaluate industrial facilities and identify improvement opportunities, including waste reduction and resource optimization\nEstablish performance standards and conduct performance reviews\nDevelop maintenance standards, preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives\nProvide technical support to production and maintenance teams, including diagnostic testing and corrective adjustments\nSupport process design, equipment upgrades, commissioning and capital (CAPEX) projects from feasibility through execution\nSupport CAPEX planning, budgeting, cost control and production cost analysis\nParticipate in vendor and contractor selection, negotiations and procurement activities\nCoordinate process monitoring, testing, laboratory activities and quality control programs\nDevelop and implement inventory optimization programs and resource utilization strategies\nEnsure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards, including liaison with government agencies\nConduct safety studies and implement programs to prevent hazards, injuries and operational risks\nSupport industrial health and safety initiatives and ISO / quality standards\nConduct technical documentation, reporting and administrative tasks\nRequirements\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline\nExperience\nMinimum 5+ years (10 preferred) in industrial or process engineering within heavy industry\nExperience in continuous manufacturing environments (pulp & paper or mineral processing preferred)\nExperience in production, operations and process improvement\nExperience with capital projects (CAPEX), including feasibility studies and execution\nExperience in project management across full project lifecycle\nExperience with maintenance, reliability and preventive maintenance practices\nExperience with quality assurance, laboratory testing and process validation\nExperience working in a unionized industrial environment\nExperience with procurement, contractor/vendor management and negotiations\nExperience evaluating work environments and implementing safety improvements\nInternational work experience considered an asset\nSkills\nStrong knowledge of mineral and industrial processing operations\nExpertise in process optimisation, troubleshooting and production systems\nKnowledge of industrial equipment, automation and control systems\nStrong analytical, cost analysis and problem-solving skills\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and reliability engineering\nKnowledge of health, safety and environmental standards\nProficiency with:\nERP systems (SAP preferred)\nAutoCAD / CAD tools\nMS Office (Excel, Word,
