perform basic maintenance and calibration\nMaintain accurate production records, including output counts, scrap rates, and downtime\nFollow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and laser safety procedures\nFABRICATION AND LAB SUPPORT\nProvide support in fabrication, support, assembly\nRun testing as required\nMaintain cleanliness of the shop\nOTHER\nOther duties and tasks as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification in machining or manufacturing preferred\n1-3+ years of experience operating laser cutting equipment (fiber, CO2, or similar) in a manufacturing setting\nAbility to read technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions\nExperience with CNC or CAD/CAM software a plus\nStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills\nAbility to use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment\nAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs\nWillingness to work assigned shifts, including potential nights/weekends based on production needs\nMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards\nCollaborate with engineering and quality teams to support process improvements\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nBackground in battery, automotive, aerospace, or precision sheet metal manufacturing\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods, typically throughout an 8-12-hour shift.\nAbility to frequently use hands and fingers to handle, position, manipulate, and inspect parts, tools, gauges, controls, and equipment.\nAbility to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, move, or position up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation or mechanical assistance.\nAbility to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions associated with machine operation and material handling.\nAbility to safely load and unload raw materials, workpieces, tooling, and finished components.\nSufficient visual acuity, including near vision and depth perception, to read blueprints, machine displays, measurement devices, and inspection results and to identify defects or dimensional variations.\nAbility to distinguish details and perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.\nAbility to work safely around moving machinery and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, gloves when appropriate, and other task-specific PPE.\nAbility to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is primarily performed in a manufacturing, machining, or production environment.\nRegular exposure to operating machinery, moving mechanical parts, metal chips, sharp edges, tooling, coolants, lubricants, oils, and other materials commonly associated with machining operations.\nNoise levels may range from moderate to loud, requiring the use of hearing protection in designated areas.\nMay be exposed to temperature variations, vibration, dust, fumes, odors, and airborne particles within applicable safety limits and control measures.\nRequires strict adherence to all safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, lockout/tagout practices, housekeeping standards, and established work instructions.\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required by the task and work area.\nWork may involve interaction with production, quality, engineering, maintenance, and materials teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nMay require overtime, weekend work, or alternate shifts based on production schedules and business needs.\nThe employee must maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or quality issues.\nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.\nAn individual must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.\nOur Next Energy Inc.
