If you are not in Lagos for now, please do not apply.\n\nAbout the Role\n\n We’re looking for an AI Engineer to build impactful healthcare AI solutions using LLMs, NLP, Speech AI, and model fine-tuning, helping improve maternal healthcare and medical access across Africa.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI technologies.\n\n Architect and implement end-to-end AI/ML pipelines, covering data preparation, model selection, training, fine-tuning, evaluation, inference, deployment, and monitoring.\n\n Architect and maintain scalable AI pipelines using cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) to ensure our tools work reliably in low-bandwidth environments.\n\n Work with Speech AI technologies, including Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), voice processing, and real-time conversational AI pipelines..\n\n Design, curate, preprocess, and validate high-quality datasets for model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.\n\n Establish and follow best practices for AI development, experimentation, testing, deployment, and responsible use of AI.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related technical field.\n\n Experience: 3+ years of experience in AI/Machine Learning engineering, preferably within health-tech or social impact sectors.\n\n Tech Stack Proficiency: Languages: Expert-level Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).\n\n NLP: Experience with Transformers, Hugging Face, and fine-tuning LLMs.\n\n Data: Strong SQL and experience with data engineering tools.\n\n Cloud & DevOps: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying models to production (MLOps).\n\nPreferred Attributes\n\n Passion for Impact: A deep-seated desire to use technology to solve real-world problems in Africa.\n\n Problem Solver: Ability to build high-performing models that function within the constraints of resource-limited settings.\n\n Language Tech: Interest or experience in building Translation Models for local
