This responsibility includes training and mentoring the day habilitation team, overall program development and the implementation and management of program space and services. The Program Manager also assumes overall responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of all those enrolled within the program offering daily therapeutic and recreational activities. Our work is rooted in respect, compassion, and inclusion, and we envision a world where individual differences are appreciated and celebrated.\nAt Advocates, we value the ideas, experiences, and contributions of employees and are committed to fostering a supportive, welcoming culture where everyone can grow and thrive.\nResponsibilities\nEnsure continuous quality improvement of individualized programs and services through the use of both internal and community resources\nAssist team members and leadership with the development of teaching curriculums designed to promote individual growth and increased independence. \nAssist in the development of innovative program ideas and alternative therapeutic activities that foster empowerment and program satisfaction.\nDevelop effective working partnerships and maintain open lines of communication with participants, families, funding sources, consultants, the community at large, program and administrative team.\nProvide and set a positive team atmosphere.\nProvide ongoing case management training to staff in teaching skills, assessment writing, behavior management, annual reviews, data collection and other case management responsibilities. \nProvide supervision, mentoring and professional development opportunities for all team members, while ensuring hands on training and support.\nServe as a member of the Day Program Management Team.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in a Human/Social Services field or a related field (psych, special ed or education) with at least two years of work experience and one year management experience, or in lieu of a degree at least three years employed working with those with developmental disabilities and one year in a management role. \nStrongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.\nStrong computer knowledge.\nDemonstrate strong oral and written skills (English proficiency) with individuals, families, funding sources, consultants, the community at large, program and administrative team.\nDemonstrate an ability to work independently and as part of a larger resource team.\nProven ability to effectively supervise and mentor staff and training\nMust be able to multi-task with frequently changing priorities.\nMust hold a valid drivers’ license.
