The engineer will develop new designs with a focus on circuit board design. The engineer will take part in system design decisions and aid in the creation of mechanical designs to house the circuit boards. Additionally, the ideal candidate will manage outsourced partners to aid in product development when our internal team does not have the expertise or time.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign, analyze, build, and test electronic hardware to be used in the area of mining proximity and safety products, including schematic creation and PCB layout.\nTake ownership in each product’s lifecycle (design, production, field evaluation, upgrades and improvements)\nWitness firsthand product use in the field and refine as necessary\nEvaluate and integrate new sensor technologies (RF, magnetic, acoustic, visual (camera with ability to run AI model), accelerometer, GPS, and more)Support contract manufacturers in the areas of part obsolescence and part substitutions.\nEvaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nThe qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
