This role covers the full engineering lifecycle from concept development through to integration, testing, and delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver manufacturable, cost-effective, and high-quality electronic subsystems.\nKey Responsibilities\nHardware Design & Simulation\nSchematic & PCB Capture: Design robust analog and digital circuits using advanced engineering software.\n\nCircuit Simulation: Model and simulate electrical circuits to ensure performance before physical prototyping.\n\nDesign Optimization: Account for Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost constraints.\n\nPrototyping: Build and test prototype electronic circuits, wiring harnesses, and associated systems.\n\nLifecycle, Integration & Testing\nLifecycle Management: Apply engineering practices across concept development, design, integration, test, and sustainment.\n\nV&V Activities: Execute test, evaluation, characterisation, verification, and validation of subsystems with test engineers.\n\nDesign Sign-off: Conduct rigorous test activities to verify requirements and formally sign off on designs.\n\nDiagnostics: Perform research, diagnostics, and hardware troubleshooting on equipment and prototypes.\n\nCollaboration & Project Support\nSystems Alignment: Partner with System and Project Engineers to ensure hardware meets overall project requirements.\n\nCross-Disciplinary Teamwork: Work with other engineering disciplines to deliver cohesive, complete system designs.\n\nPlanning: Develop, review, update, and modify electrical design plans alongside project work schedules.\n\nProblem Solving: Resolve design issues, focusing on manufacturing effort, repeatability, and failure analysis.\n\nDocumentation & Governance\nTechnical Writing: Document designs, calculations, design options, justifications, and engineering decisions.\n\nDesign Reviews: Prepare technical documentation to conduct and support formal design reviews.\n\nProduct Analysis: Provide detailed electronics design analyses to support broader product development activities.\n\nExperience & Qualifications\nEssential Criteria\nExperience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar electronics design role.\n\nCircuit Design: In-depth knowledge of both digital and analog circuit design.\n\nAutonomy: Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision.\n\nEngineering Lifecycle: Demonstrated experience spanning design, integration, test, and sustainment.\n\nSoft Skills: Collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving aptitude.\n\nComputer Literacy: Advanced computer skills, including engineering design software, databases, and spreadsheets.\n\nDesirable Criteria\nCAD Tools: High-level expertise in circuit design using Altium Designer is most desirable.\n\nHardware Architecture: Expertise in embedded microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs.\n\nCommunication Protocols: Knowledge of communication buses (e.g., I2C, CAN, SPI, Ethernet).\n\nEnvironment: Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams in structured product development.\n\nIndustry Sector: Prior experience working within the Defence
