You'll work across server, cloud, virtualisation, identity, storage, backup, networking, and Microsoft technologies, ensuring our environments remain secure, compliant, and highly available. You'll take ownership of infrastructure maintenance, patching, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery testing, and operational improvement initiatives.\nWorking closely with Service Desk, Cyber Security, Cloud & Infrastructure teams, suppliers, and customers, you'll play a pivotal role in preventing incidents before they occur, resolving complex technical issues, and delivering infrastructure improvements that have a real impact across the organisation.\nWe're looking for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive mindset. You'll be confident working independently, managing priorities effectively, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nIn return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we're offering a competitive salary of £47,500 to £52,500 and a fantastic benefits package including:\n\n25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Day off (with the opportunity to buy additional days)\n\n2 Volunteer Days\n\nPension - 5% Employee / 5% Employer\n\nHealthcare Cash Plan, including 3x salary life assurance\n\nAnnual salary review\n\nRefer a friend scheme\n\nFree access to Benefit Hub, including retail discounts, cycle to work scheme, and additional voluntary benefits\nLocation: Hockley (Hybrid considered)\nHours: Full Time, 37 hours per week\nContract: FTC - 12 months\nClosing Date: 15th of October 20206\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain and support server, cloud, virtualisation, identity, storage, backup, network, and supporting infrastructure services.\nDeliver infrastructure patching, maintenance, and upgrade activities across multiple platforms.\nIdentify, investigate, and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and security risks.\nManage server lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, replacements, and decommissioning.\nMonitor backup platforms, perform recovery testing, and contribute to disaster recovery exercises.\nProvide 3rd-line support for complex infrastructure incidents and problem management activities.\nDeliver operational improvement projects and support infrastructure change activities.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, operational records, and support procedures.\nSkills and Experience\nStrong experience in an infrastructure, systems, cloud operations, or senior 3rd-line engineering role.\nHands-on knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, storage, backup, networking, monitoring, and patching technologies.\nExperience delivering server patching, vulnerability remediation, hardening, and lifecycle upgrades.\nStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with experience supporting live environments.\nExperience with backup technologies, recovery testing, and disaster recovery processes.\nExcellent organisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience within an MSP or multi-customer environment would be advantageous.\nRelevant Microsoft, Azure, VMware, backup, networking, or infrastructure certifications are desirable.\nAdditional Information\nIT Services plays a vital role in supporting both our business operations and customer-facing services.
