This includes carrying out planned and emergency maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs, while identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, and safety issues.\nYoi will work closely with the Fleet Team, Operations, Station Leads, and management to reduce vehicle downtime and ensure vehicles are available when needed.\nWe’re looking for a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to help keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to respond. If you take pride in high-quality workmanship and enjoy a varied working environment, we’d love to hear from you.\nWorking hours - 08:00-16:00, 5 days a week.\nBenefits for the role include:\n£42,000.00 per annum\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities\nA dynamic and varied working environment\nCompany pension scheme\nOn-site parking\n28 days holiday per year\nRole Responsibilities:\nVehicle Maintenance & Servicing\nCarry out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, inspections, and safety checks in line with manufacturer and organisational requirements.\nMaintain key vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, lights, fluids, and associated equipment.\nFleet Support\nWork closely with operational teams to manage vehicle downtime and minimise disruption to service delivery.\nMonitor vehicle condition, respond to reported defects, and prioritise repairs based on safety and operational needs.\nVehicle Safety & Compliance\nComplete and accurately record required safety inspections, servicing, MOTs, and statutory checks.\nIdentify and appropriately manage safety-critical defects, ensuring unsafe vehicles are not returned to service.\nEquipment & Specialist Systems\nSupport equipment installation, removal, or replacement while ensuring vehicle safety and compliance are maintained.\nLiaise with specialist suppliers or contractors where additional technical expertise is required.\nParts, Tools & Workshop Management\nMaintain appropriate stocks of vehicle parts, consumables, and materials required for planned and reactive maintenance\nKeep accurate records of parts and materials used and report damaged, defective, or missing equipment\nDo you have what it takes?\nLevel 3 Motor Vehicle Technician qualification (essential)\nFull UK manual driving licence\nProven experience working as a vehicle mechanic or technician.\nExperience maintaining commercial or operational vehicles is advantageous.\nStrong mechanical and diagnostic skills.\nGood understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance requirements.\nExcellent attention to detail.\nStrong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.\nAbility to prioritise safety-critical repairs.\nGood organisational and time-management skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a wider Fleet Team.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to maintain accurate technical and maintenance records.\nProfessional, reliable, and conscientious approach.\nWe are committed to providing equal opportunities and we endeavour to provide an inclusive and safe working culture for all.\nAbout Us\nEMED Group is an established healthcare logistics provider that enables access to health and social care through our four specialist divisions.
