The position requires effective collaboration with colleagues, clients, and external agencies.\nThis role is open to candidates currently residing in or interested in working from the London or St. Thomas area.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nPlan and conduct complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision, applying extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering and its impact on other disciplines, as well as National and Provincial Building Codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, and other relevant codes and standards.\nModify established guidelines and devise new approaches to meet project requirements. Apply existing criteria in innovative ways and draw conclusions from comparative situations.\nDevelop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower costs and enhance work quality.\nSolve unique design and engineering issues through innovative approaches or criteria application.\nInitiate and develop guidelines and investigations for other team members to enhance problem-solving capabilities.\nCoordinate complex tasks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.\nDemonstrate the ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate the work of engineers and designers.\nManage mid-sized to large projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and performance objectives for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems in various projects.\nPrepare progress reports, recommend design changes, estimate costs, and recommend payments for completed work.\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external agencies.\nDiscuss design problems, explain design features and specifications, and outline project control criteria.\nEstablish and maintain client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to projects.\nCommunicate with clients to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions. \nMentor and support the technical and professional development of junior staff assigned to projects.\nAssist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or senior team members to support the overall success of the team and company objectives.\nDemonstrate a the office alongside the project team to support collaboration, mentoring, and delivery excellence (with flexibility for hybrid work).\n\nWhat You Bring to the Table\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification required.\nMinimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within a consulting environment.\nStrong knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and best practices.\nProven ability to solve complex engineering problems using innovative approaches.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.\nProficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.\nProject management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage mid-sized to large
