This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of a portfolio of outsourced payroll clients, delivering a comprehensive end-to-end payroll service while supporting business growth and maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.\nAs our Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the full payroll lifecycle for multiple SME clients, including payroll setup, processing, HMRC submissions, pension administration, reporting, reconciliations, year-end activities, and payroll compliance. You'll also play a key role in payroll audits, implementations, health checks, and business development activities. Sage 50 knowledge would be an advantage.\nYou'll work closely with clients, pension providers, HMRC, and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll services are delivered accurately, compliantly, and on time. Acting as a trusted payroll adviser, you'll provide expert guidance on payroll legislation, pensions, tax, and best practice while building strong long-term relationships with clients.\nWe're looking for a highly organised and technically capable payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll be comfortable managing multiple payrolls and deadlines, explaining complex payroll matters to clients, and identifying opportunities to improve services and support wider business growth.\nIn return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we're offering a competitive salary of £47,500 to £52,500 per annum with a benefits package including:\n\n25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Day off (with the opportunity to buy additional days)\n\n2 Volunteer Days\n\nPension - 5% Employee / 5% Employer\n\nHealthcare Cash Plan, including 3x salary life assurance\n\nAnnual salary review\n\nRefer a friend scheme\n\nFree access to Benefit Hub, including retail discounts, cycle to work scheme, and additional voluntary benefits\nLocation: Remote\nHours: Full Time, 37 hours per week\nContract: Permanent\nClosing Date: 28 October 2026\nKey Responsibilities\nManage end-to-end processing of multiple client payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed deadlines.\nSet up new client payrolls, including employee records, pay elements, pensions, tax settings, and payroll calendars.\nProcess starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, commissions, statutory payments, deductions, expenses, and other payroll adjustments.\nComplete RTI submissions, manage HMRC notices, reconcile payroll liabilities, and deliver year-end activities including P60s and associated reporting.\nAdminister workplace pensions and auto-enrolment schemes, including enrolment assessments, submissions, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.\nAct as the primary payroll contact for a portfolio of SME clients, providing expert advice and support on payroll-related matters.\nSupport payroll implementations, transitions, migrations, audits, health checks, and payroll improvement projects.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance payroll services and support wider HR and business service offerings.\nMaintain high standards of payroll compliance, data security, audit trails, and quality assurance processes.\nWork collaboratively with internal HR, Finance, Recruitment, and IT teams to support client requirements and service excellence.\nSkills and Experience\nSignificant experience in UK payroll processing, ideally within an outsourced payroll bureau, payroll provider, accountancy practice, or managed services environment.\nProven experience processing payrolls from start to finish while managing multiple clients and competing deadlines.\nStrong technical knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, statutory payments, workplace pensions, auto-enrolment, and payroll legislation.\nExperience setting up and implementing new payrolls, including pension scheme administration and payroll migrations.\nStrong payroll reconciliation, problem-solving, and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.\nExcellent client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical payroll matters clearly and professionally.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.\nCommercial awareness and confidence supporting client discussions, proposals, and service development opportunities.\nCIPP qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.\nExperience delivering payroll audits, health checks, implementations, or system migrations would be beneficial.\nAdditional Information\nTribal Business Solutions (Part of the Seetec Group) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share and uphold this commitment in conjunction with the requirements of the Prevent Duty and the positive promotion of modern British values.\nDependent on the role you are applying to, you may be required to process a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS/DS) check.
