By joining our technician team, you will work across a variety of vehicle types, including electric, hydrogen and diesel vehicles, using cutting-edge diagnostic technology.\nYou will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet our safety and performance standards, enabling us to deliver outstanding service for our customers every day.\nSummary of key duties & responsibilities:\nTo be part of a team providing MOT preparation, vehicle inspection, maintenance, diagnostic and repair services to a varied PCV fleet\nTo maintain a clear understanding of vehicle inspection standards and compliance requirements\nTo be part of the process of promoting and ensuring a good working relationship between the engineering and operations departments, essential to achieving our shared objectives.\nTo follow all procedures to control and monitor parts usage and stock control.\nAs part of the engineering team, to be consistently proactive in ensuring that peak vehicle requirement is achieved.\nEssential for the role:\nMinimum NVQ Level 3 or C&G equivalent or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (PCV preferred)\nAt least two years relevant, recent, and demonstrable post training experience in heavy vehicle engineering, preferably PCV\nThe ability to apply consistently high standards of technical judgement\nA pragmatic and proactive, can-do attitude to short notice workshop deadlines\nA flexible approach to working hours as we work towards becoming a 24/7 business\nPossession of a full driving licence (category D desirable)\nDesirable for the role:\nPCV Electrical system aptitude and experience in the bus industry\nGood electrical and diagnostic ability\nPossession of IRTEC licence (Inspection / Service Maintenance Technician)\nKnowledge of the transport sector\nBenefits:\nAnnual pay review\n\nSmart health cover - our award-winning employee assistance program offers 24/7 confidential support for you and your family\n\nPension - 5% contributory pension matched by us\n\nEmployee retail discount scheme\n\nFree bus travel & significantly reduced rail travel for you & your family member\n\nLife assurance\n\n24/7 Employee Assistance Programme\n\nDiscounted Gym membership\n\nAll employees must be willing to undergo the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check and obtain a DBS certificate.
