This site based position focuses on daily inspections, quality documentation, compliance monitoring, and coordination with subcontractors, testing agencies, and the project team. \nThe role supports the project’s Construction Quality Management Plan and contributes to continuous improvement, accurate reporting, and timely resolution of quality issues. It is ideal for a detail oriented professional with strong field experience and a commitment to quality and safety.\nResponsibilities\nQuality Inspections & Compliance Monitoring\nConduct daily inspections of civil, structural,architectural, and building systems to verify conformance with drawings,\nspecifications, and standards.\n\nMonitor contractor work for compliance with contractspecifications and applicable safety and environmental legislation.\n\nIdentify, document, and report non-conformances;assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.\n\nInspect materials, installations, workmanship, andtemporary works (e.g., erosion control, silt fencing).\n\nSupport internal and external audits by preparingdocumentation and addressing findings.\n\nTesting Coordination & Documentation\nCoordinate third-party testing and inspections (e.g.,concrete, soils, firestopping, coatings, HVAC balancing).\n\nReview test reports, identify issues, and escalateconcerns to the Senior Coordinator or Quality Lead.\n\nMaintain accurate inspection records, photographs,daily diaries, and quality logs.\n\nTrack material approvals and verify compliance withsubmittals and shop drawings.\n\nNonconformity & Corrective Action Management\nDocument observations, deficiencies, andnonconformity.\n\nWork with site superintendents & subcontractorsto implement corrective actions.\n\nEscalate major quality issues to the Project QualityLead.\n\nQuality Coordination & Support\nAssist in developing and maintaining Inspection &Test Plans (ITPs) and weekly ITP Look-Ahead schedules.\n\nCoordinate meetings and inspections with consultants,subcontractors, and testing agencies.\n\nPerform field-level checks of subcontractor QualityPlans, ITPs, and quality records for compliance with approved\nrequirements.\n\nSupport document control for all quality-relateddocumentation.\n\nParticipate in critical inspections and quality walk-downs.Track documentation, identify deficiencies, and escalate issues to senior\nquality leadership as required.\n\nAssist with project close-out, ensuring inspectionrecords, test results, certificates, and turnover documents are complete.\n\nConstruction Support & Field Operations\nAssist with site investigations when differingconditions arise and support constructability reviews.\n\nMonitor progress and document delays or issuesimpacting schedule.\n\nWitness field and factory tests and document results.\nSupport coordination between contractors and theproject team to minimize impacts to operations and stakeholders.\n\nAssist with testing, startup, and commissioning ofnew systems.\n\nSafety, Communication & Team Collaboration\nWork safely and follow the organization’s Safetyculture.\n\nCommunicate clearly with contractors, consultants,and internal teams regarding quality requirements and upcoming\ninspections.\n\nMentor project team staff when required.\nSupport external communications systems by offeringguidance and advice.\n\nRequirements\nEducation\n& Certifications\nDiploma or degree in Civil Engineering, ConstructionManagement, Architecture, or related discipline.\n\nOACETT RCSI designation or PEO EIT designationpreferred.\n\nISO 9001 QMS Auditor certification (asset).\nValid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.\nExperience\nMinimum 5-6 years of experience in construction,quality control, or site inspection.\n\nExperience with grading, asphalt, concrete, ortransportation projects is an asset.\n\nExperience coordinating third-party testing andinspections.\n\nAbility to read and interpret architectural,structural, and civil drawings.\n\nValid Government of Canada security clearance or eligibility to obtain one, in accordance with project security requirements.\nDesired Profile\nStrong judgment, decisiveness, and problem-solvingabilities.\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, andconstruction documentation systems.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively ina dynamic construction environment.\n\nBenefits\n4 weeks' vacation per year;\nComprehensive group insurance program;\nRRSP group program with an employer contribution to a DPSP;\nEmployee assistance program;\nContinuing education;\nActive social club;\nFriendly and stimulating work environment;\nLarge scale projects;\nCorporate Clothing Program upon hiring.\nIn accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $60,000-$105,000. Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity.
