Engineers, architects, and other building specialists work hard to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations, while improving the well-being of communities. \nOffice buildings, hospitals and research centers, educational institutions, residential buildings, hotels, shopping centers, factories, sports and cultural centers, our team excels at building these places using state-of-the-art tools and places people at the heart of its concerns by advocating an innovative collaborative approach.\nCome build the future with us!\nWe are looking to add aSenior Safety Coordinator to work onsite on one of our important ICI projects in North York! \n\nResponsibilities\nLead, implement, and continuously improve the site-specific Health & Safety Program for a large or complex ICI construction project;\nEnsure full compliance with OHSA, Construction Projects Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91), owner standards, and company policies;\nConduct and oversee comprehensive site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and field audits across multiple trades and high-risk activities;\nAct as the primary point of contact for health & safety matters on site, including regulatory agencies and client safety representatives;\nLead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans;\nDeliver and oversee safety orientations, toolbox talks, and advanced training related to ICI-specific hazards (e.g., confined spaces, energized systems, critical lifts, hot work, high-risk equipment);\nMentor and guide junior safety staff, site supervisors, and subcontractors on safety best practices;\nReview and approve safe work procedures, lift plans, permits, and risk assessments;\nCoordinate emergency response planning, drills, and site preparedness;\nMaintain and audit all safety documentation, records, and reporting systems;\nSupport WSIB claims management, return-to-work programs, and modified duty planning. \nRequirements\nMinimum of 10 years experience in Health and Safety;\nDiploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience;\n5 - 8+ years of progressive health & safety experience on ICI construction projects;\nExperience working on institutional or operational facilities (e.g., hospitals, schools, government, transit);\nDemonstrated leadership experience on large, multi-trade construction sites;\nAdvanced working knowledge of Ontario OHSA, Construction Projects Regulation, and ICI industry best practices;\nValid Working at Heights certification;\nStrong incident investigation and hazard analysis experience;\nExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills;\nProficiency in safety reporting systems, audits, and compliance documentation;\nCRSP, CHSO, NCSO, or equivalent professional certification, an asset. \nAbility to obtain a Level II Secret security clearance. \nBenefits\n4 weeks of annual vacation\nComplete group insurance program upon entry\nGroup RRSP with employer contribution to a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)\n24 hour access to a virtual doctor (telemedicine)\nTraining and development programs\nEmployee assistance program\nActive social club and health and wellness committee\nDiverse, innovative and stimulating environment\nA company built on values of respect, integrity and a job well done\nCorporate Clothing Program\nFirm recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies \nIn accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $95,000 - $145,000. Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity.
