Store Associate reports to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager in the Manager’s absence.\nExemplary Duties/Responsibilities:\nThe Store Associate assists customers.\nStocks and rotates merchandise.\nRuns the cash register as assigned.\nResponsible for the accuracy of transactions when assigned to register and adherence to company check and credit card procedures.\nReport safety hazards and all accidents to Management immediately.\nMaintains the store in a clean, orderly, and safe manner, which may include daily floor mopping and related tasks as assigned.\nAssist in receiving new merchandise and processing incoming merchandise.\nProvide customer service in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.\nThe Store Associate may be cross trained for other retail functions and required to perform assigned tasks to standards.\nAnswer the telephone in a courteous manner.\nAttends general store meetings as assigned.\nAttends general departmental and safety meetings as required.\nResponsible for other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nEducation/Experience:\nAbility to read, write, and understand simple instructions.\nBasic mathematical skills.\nKnowledge & Skills:\nAble to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing\nUnderstanding of rendering customer service and working with the public is desirable.\nAble to answer the telephone.\nUse of cash register and calculator /10 key necessary.\nAccuracy of work is essential.\nAble to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.\nCooperation with store personnel, direct supervisors, and Division Director.\nAbility to serve customers effectively.\nQuantity and quality of work performed.\nAccuracy of records maintained.\nAbility to meet deadlines and respond to special needs.\nAbility to serve the public professionally and courteously.\n Ability to follow simple instructions.\nAppearance and organization of assigned workstation.\nAbility to perform some janitorial duties.\nDesirable Qualifications:\nBilingual is a plus.\nCore Competencies:\nTo perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\nEthics - Consistently demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and alignment with Goodwill’s core values in all workplace interactions and decisions.\nTechnical Skills & Initiative - Effectively applies required tools and systems, seeks opportunities to improve skills, and takes initiative to support team and operational needs.\nTask Execution & Adaptability - Completes duties efficiently and accurately while adapting well to changing priorities, responsibilities, or workflows.\nJob Knowledge - Applies appropriate understanding of store procedures, merchandise handling, and company policies to daily responsibilities.\nCustomer Service - Delivers courteous, helpful, and responsive service to all customers, contributing to a positive and professional store environment.\nDependability & Attendance - Demonstrates reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and accountability in completing tasks and responsibilities.
