We’d love for you to join our team!\nJob Summary:\nB&A is looking for a systems Administrator to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. The System Administrator will provide hands-on administration and technical support for classified infrastructure, including Windows workstations, servers, Active Directory, and security compliance tools. This role requires experience supporting secure environments, conducting vulnerability and compliance assessments, monitoring audit activity, and maintaining system baselines in accordance with government security requirements.\nResponsibilities:\nAdminister and support the Open Storage Area (OSA) environment.\nTroubleshoot workstation, server, and user-related technical issues.\nInstall, configure, update, and patch operating systems and software.\nProvide end-user technical support and resolve operational issues.\nMonitor system health, performance, and operational stability.\nCoordinate hardware maintenance, replacement, and lifecycle activities.\nUnlock disabled or locked user accounts.\nPerform password resets and account maintenance activities.\nAdminister Active Directory user and group accounts.\nCreate, modify, and disable user accounts based on approved requests.\nReview user accounts for inactivity, authorization, and compliance.\nConduct recurring Nessus vulnerability scans.\nReview, document, and track vulnerability findings through remediation.\nPerform SCAP and STIG compliance assessments.\nImplement required security patches, updates, and STIG configurations.\nReview audit logs for suspicious activity, security events, and policy violations.\nEscalate security incidents and concerns to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).\nSupport Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) activities and security reporting requirements.\nReview and analyze Windows audit logs and EventSentry logs.\nMonitor privileged user account activity.\nInvestigate unusual system behavior and security events.\nVerify audit logging and monitoring functions remain operational.\nSupport Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) inspections, audits, and assessments.\nMaintain approved system configurations and security baselines.\nDocument hardware, software, and configuration changes.\nSupport Security Impact Analyses (SIAs).\nAssist with Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes and activities.\nMaintain accurate hardware and software inventory records.\nCoordinate approved media transfers with designated Data Transfer Agents (DTAs).\nEnsure compliance with approved transfer procedures and security policies.\nSupport media scanning, handling, and accountability processes.\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nRequired Skills:\n Experience administering Windows-based systems in secure or classified environments.\nExperience with Active Directory administration and account management.\nKnowledge of vulnerability management processes and tools, including Nessus.\nExperience conducting SCAP and STIG compliance assessments.\nUnderstanding of cybersecurity principles, auditing, logging, and continuous monitoring.\nExperience troubleshooting workstation and server issues.\nAbility to document configurations, changes, and technical procedures.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nDesired Skills:\nExperience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other classified government environments.\nFamiliarity with RMF (Risk Management Framework) requirements.\nExperience supporting DCSA inspections and security assessments.\nKnowledge of Configuration Management and Change Control processes.\nSecurity+ or comparable DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification.\nExperience with EventSentry, enterprise monitoring tools, and security audit platforms.\nSecurity Clearance\nActive secret clearance.\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without accommodation.\nAbility to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer.\nFrequently operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.\nAbility to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and email.\nOccasionally move about the office and lift up to 20 pounds.\nAbility to work the assigned schedule with regular and reliable attendance.\nAbility to travel up to 10% as required.\nMore About B&A:\nNotable Clients\nB&A has grown to be a company that is trusted by our clients for exceptional service, innovative solutions, and inspired employees.
