Reports to the Senior Manager Logistics and Aftermarket. \n\nExemplary Duties / Responsibilities:\nThe Truck Driver drives company trucks to designated locations. \nHe/she is responsible for the safety of trucks, material handlers, and self.\n He/she is responsible for reporting unsafe conditions. \nHe/she is responsible for completing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. \nHe/she Pick-ups donations from residences, businesses, ADCs, and stores. \nHe/she is responsible for delivering all donated goods to the dock. \nHe/she is responsible for delivering merchandise to stores. \nThe Truck Driver serves as material handler loading and unloading truck. \nHe/she is responsible for supervision of material handlers while loading / unloading truck and making deliveries. \nMust be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a maximum of 50 lbs. He/she cooperates with the Transportation Manager, Commercial Operations Division Director, Co-Workers, and the Public. \nHe/she is responsible for the quantity and quality of work performed.\n He/she must have the ability to meet deadlines and respond to special needs. \nHe/she is responsible for ensuring the condition of the truck is in safe, proper working condition. \nHe/She must attend Department and Safety meetings as required. \nHe/she is responsible for other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nEducation/Experience:\nOne to two years of experience driving a Bobtail/Straight Truck 24 ft. or more.\nPrevious position that has demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of a Bobtail truck.\nKnowledge & Skills:\nAbility to read and write in English.\nAbility to understand complex instructions.\nKnowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of a Bobtail truck.\nGeneral knowledge of the area and ability to route and read a map preferred.\nFluent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual plus.\nCooperation with Division Directors.\nAbility to supervise material handler/driver helper when applicable.\nAbility to work with the public in a courteous and professional manner.\nAbility to remain consistent in performance and standards related to material handling.\nAble to work with minimum supervision.\nLicense/Certifications:\nValid California Driver’s License, clean driving record, current DMV printout, and be insurable.\n\nCore Competencies:\nTo perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\nSafe Driving & Compliance - Maintains a clean driving record, follows DOT regulations, performs pre/post-trip inspections, and reports any unsafe conditions or incidents.\nRoute Execution & Timeliness - Adheres to established delivery/pick-up schedules, plans efficient routes, and meets daily transportation deadlines.\nVehicle Maintenance & Inspection - Conducts daily inspections, maintains cleanliness and safety of truck, and reports maintenance needs proactively.\nMaterial Handling & Supervision - Properly loads/unloads goods, supervises material handlers during transport, ensures safe handling practices, and meets lifting requirements.\nCommunication & Reporting - Provides clear communication with dispatch, store staff, and management; completes delivery logs and incident reports accurately and promptly.\nCustomer & Public Interaction - Demonstrates professional behavior with donors, clients, and the public during pickup/deliveries; resolves concerns respectfully.\nTeam Collaboration - Works cooperatively with other drivers, handlers, and management to support department goals and improve daily operations.\nAttendance & Punctuality - Works cooperatively with other drivers, handlers, and management to support department goals and improve daily operations.\n\nThis job specification should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standard of the position.
