Underwriters play a crucial role in evaluating risks and determining the appropriate insurance coverage for individuals or businesses. As an Underwriting Assistant, you'll be learning the ins and outs of the underwriting process and gaining practical experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.\nHow You Will Contribute:\nLearning underwriting guidelines and policies: You'll familiarize yourself with the company's underwriting guidelines and the criteria used to assess risk. \nAnalyzing insurance applications: You'll review insurance applications submitted by clients, verifying information, and evaluating potential risks. \nGathering and evaluating data: You'll collect and analyze data on the applicant's background, risk factors, and any other relevant information to make informed decisions. \nAssisting with risk assessment: You'll work alongside experienced underwriters to evaluate the level of risk associated with insuring a particular client or business. \nPolicy development: You may assist in developing new insurance policies and products tailored to specific markets or industries. \nCommunication: You'll interact with insurance agents, brokers, and clients to obtain additional information and clarify any questions related to the underwriting process. \nContinuous learning: As an assistant, you'll be expected to stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and advancements in underwriting techniques. \nSkills & Experience to be Successful:\nAssociate degree or higher in finance, business, economics, or a related field. \nBilingual (English/Mandarin) strongly preferred. \nBasic knowledge of insurance principles and practices preferred. \nStrong analytical and critical thinking skills. \nAttention to detail and accuracy in assessing risk. \nGood communication and interpersonal skills. \nAbility to work in a team-oriented environment. \nAbout One80:\nOne80 Intermediaries is part of Arrowhead Intermediaries, a global insurance distribution platform that offers deep specialization, scale, and innovation across wholesale brokerage, program administration, and specialty insurance.
