The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial statement preparation and reporting for our manufacturing plant locations, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting. This role maintains the integrity of the general ledger system to produce regular and custom reporting for management, while also responding to requests for financial data from external stakeholders.\nThe ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, required experience in cost accounting, and familiarity working in a manufacturing environment. This individual can work independently as well as collaboratively across departments.\nKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPrepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly and yearly basis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles\nReconcile and balance the general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts monthly.\nInitiates and enters journal entries.\nUpdates and distributes the job cost report.\nAssists in cash flow and financial forecasting.\nReview intercompany balances monthly.\nReview costing in system.\nManage daily cycle counts.\nInitiates all payments in system and submits for approval by controller and CFO.\nMaintains daily inventory level reports for management.\nProvides a variety of administrative functions and works on special projects for management. \nReconcile expense reports.\nManages the credit card program.\nAssist with year-end audit request.\nAssist in the completion of annual operating budget.\nEDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:\nA minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or equivalent 5 years of related work experience.\nExperience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems\nERP system experience - Epicor preferred.\nStrong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills\nA minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis.
