We develop solar energy and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the United States in community solar, distributed generation, and large utility scale project segments. Our diverse project pipeline, multiple locations across the US, and unique multidisciplined team sets us apart.\nWe are a dynamic and innovative renewable energy industry company committed to excellence, collaboration, and driving positive change in our industry.\nAbout the role\nThe Development Civil Engineer provides dedicated civil engineering support for OneEnergy’s Community Solar and other pre-NTP development strategies. This role handles conceptual and preliminary civil scope, including stormwater management input, discretionary permit exhibits, and site constraint review. It engages earlier in the development process than our construction-tracked civil engineering roles and stays with a project through discretionary permitting.\nWhat you'll do\nPrepare conceptual and preliminary stormwater management and Special Use Permit exhibits for Community Solar and other pre-NTP projects, including sites where local jurisdictions require stormwater design as part of discretionary permitting.\nProvide early civil engineering input on site layout and constraints, including grading, drainage, and stormwater feasibility, before a project moves into detailed engineering.\nServe as the internal technical resource for developers on civil and stormwater questions during site selection and consultation with third-party civil engineering firms, including review of properties with prior industrial use or other known site constraints.\nReview geotechnical and wetland delineation reports to support cost-effective, buildable site designs.\nBuild out stormwater and permitting reference material for priority jurisdictions to help development teams flag civil scope and permitting risk earlier in site evaluation.\nPrepare technical exhibits and provide meeting support for discretionary permit hearings, Investment Committee reviews, and other internal design reviews.\nProvide high-level stormwater and civil design summaries to support project sale and buyer diligence conversations.\nCoordinate with construction-tracked civil engineering staff to hand off projects cleanly at Notice to Proceed.\nCoordinate with electrical engineers to achieve feasible design with minimal iterations.\nSupport delivery-tracked (NTP) civil engineering scope as workload and project priorities require.\nAttend community, county, township, watershed, etc meetings as necessary along with project developers.\nQualifications:\nRequired Qualifications:\nBS degree in Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.\n3+ years of professional civil engineering experience, including experience with stormwater management and erosion control design.\nEIT (Engineer in Training) certification.\nProficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD.\nExperience preparing or reviewing stormwater management and site permitting exhibits for discretionary permit submissions (e.g., Special Use Permits, Conditional Use Permits).\nExperience interpreting geotechnical and wetland delineation reports.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain civil and stormwater concepts to non-technical audiences, including developers and permitting authorities.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities across different markets and jurisdictions.\nMust have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude.\nDemonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.\nA willingness to contribute to our culture, which thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable.\nAbility to travel periodically for site visits, agency meetings, and permit hearings; must carry an active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred.\nExperience with MIDS/P8/Winslamm, HEC-RAS, or Flo2D modeling.\nExperience with solar or other utility-scale renewable energy site development.\nFamiliarity with stormwater and discretionary permitting requirements in the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic markets.\nExperience managing or coordinating third-party engineering consultants.\nCompensation:\nOneEnergy’s compensation packages are dependent on an array of factors including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other organizational needs. The compensation range for the role is $82,000-$124,000 based on location, experience, and qualifications. We provide generous Paid Time Off (six weeks/year) and an impactful Volunteer Time Off Program. We offer robust employee benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, 401(k) matching retirement plan, life insurance, wellness incentives, and more.\nWe recognize an equitable energy transition requires the participation of diverse communities, groups, and institutions. OneEnergy is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against otherwise qualified applicants on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or handicap, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5503,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Life insurance","Retirement plans"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-13T10:15:02Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":73,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.806,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":12,"expected_fill_days":22,"reasons":["conf:0","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-10-21T05:46:15Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/oneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/oneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-21T06:39:11Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":9491,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-22T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":4423371},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=4423371"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Foneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Foneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Foneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/oneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Foneenergyrenewables-civil-engineer-solar-development"}]}
