In addition to managing the project as a whole, they will work alongside other 2D Supervisors in London to develop the whole 2D Team.\nThe 2D Supervisor will be the driving force of the creative and look development process along with the VFX and CG Supervisors.The Supervisor will work directly and collaboratively managing and supervising the team of compositors, briefing them and providing constructive feedback. Being able to ensure consistency and develop production methodologies, creative approaches and problem-solving is a large part of the position. The Supervisor will also be managing the production workflow and pipeline as well as the production bidding for current and future projects.\nRequirements\nWork closely with production to schedule work \nHaving a strong eye for detail, an ability to spot and fix little issues and mistakes in a shot and take time to review shots properly to avoid multiple back and forth of Tech Notes rounds.\nDirect tasks to junior, mid and senior level artists\nTake responsibility for the quality of work for the team as a whole as well as review and finalise all frames before submission. Able to address tech fixes : meaning able to understand, interpret the tech notes given by the Supervisor and address them.\nWork proactively and collaboratively with all other VFX and support departments \nAttend client reviews and lead daily reviews with the Compositing team \nCommunicate client notes and deliver feedback and instructions to artists\nBalance the creative and technical aspects of each shot/sequence, and ensure quality standards are met. \nSolve any difficult technical and artistic compositing challenges of a shot or sequence \nTake a leadership role in guiding the longer-term goals of the 2D department, covering both building up a team of Compositors as well as 2D pipeline development, including taking into account stereoscopic projects \nOn set VFX supervision for (but not limited to) 2D based projects \nSkills and Attributes\nKnowledge of python scripting is useful but not essential \nBasic working knowledge of Maya and Photoshop is also a plus\nA familiarity with Linux and Windows Operating Systems\nExperience needed\nPrevious experience in a leadership role\nExcellent communication skills (with immediate team and other departments of the visual effect pipeline)\nDeep understanding of film VFX processes and pipeline\nExpert user of Nuke\nCritical eye for detail\nHighly organised\nBenefits\n25 days holiday, plus bank holidays \n5 days carers leave per year \n2 paid volunteering days per calendar year \nHybrid working\nCompany pension and life insurance \nMedicash healthcare cash plan \n A calendar full of wrap parties and other social events \nHours and location\nYour contracted hours are 40 hours per week with one hour a day for lunch.
