Employee focused.\nJOB SUMMARY\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Risk Analyst to join our team.In this role, you will support our commodity trading business by enhancing risk controls, advancing data modeling capabilities, optimizing risk systems, and strengthening integration with internal data platforms.\nWorking closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve risk management processes, data quality, reporting, and system effectiveness. If you are passionate about leveraging data, technology, and analytical thinking, we encourage you to apply.\nPosition level and compensation will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.\nJob Profile Summary\nPerforms activities associated with control of commodity and operational risk across all business units.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities\nAnalyze and/or prepare complex reports and records related to daily mark-to-market profit and loss (P/L) variance of trading books, volumetric positions, hedge strategies and Value at Risk (VaR), providing management with explanations of major variances and analytics to support business decisions.\nCollaborate with front and back office to quantify and analyze risks associated with potential transactions and to ensure proper deal capture, valuation, accounting, and compliance with risk management policies.\nDevelop and maintain complex hedging strategies and sophisticated models to support business segment commodity risk mitigation.\nProvide analysis and recommendations for acceptable hedge instruments and practices to ensure compliance with hedge accounting requirements.\nPrepare back tests, scenario analysis, stress tests and performance analysis to explain the drivers of risk and mitigation strategies.\nUtilize statistical modeling techniques to forecast potential commodity price changes as well as monitor macroeconomic market conditions to adjust models accordingly.\nMonitor, control and report daily transaction activity from financial and physical desks to ensure compliance with approved risk management policies. \nUpdate and validate market price curves on a daily basis.\nUtilize the Risk System software to maintain all physical and financial obligations and prepare mark to market position reports.\nWork with trading, accounting and contract administration employees and management to ensure accurate processing of all financial trading activities.\nWork closely with IT team members to design, validate, implement, troubleshoot and maintain various system solutions for both positions and P&L reporting.\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or related field with job-related experience \nMaster's Degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics preferred \nWork Experience\n Experience performing detailed financial analysis and modeling of complex commodity trading activities. \n Experience and/or training related to: Accounting standards and supporting documentation. \n Trading policies and practices. \n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nKnowledge of: commodity markets and financial derivative instruments such as forwards, futures, swaps and options. \nKnowledge of: advanced statistical and data modelling techniques utilizing various software including MatLab, R and Python. \nKnowledge of: risk management methodologies and Monte Carlo simulations. \nKnowledge of: risk measures. \nSkills in: UI Path automation software a plus. \nSkills in: Microsoft Excel required. \nAbility to: apply complex mathematical concepts, including algebraic formulas, statistical methods, calculus and derivative pricing models. \nAbility to: to grasp and accurately communicate complex transactions, strategies and models to varying organization levels while highlighting relevant information to a targeted audience. \nAbility to: to mine, manipulate, interpret and analyze large data sets across multiple applications. \nAbility to: communicate and/or exchange information and instructions. \nAbility to: read and interpret financial statements, professional accounting standards, trading policies, contracts, agreements, computer printouts, industry publications, reports and correspondence. \nLicenses and Certifications\nNone required \nStrength Factor Rating - Physical Demands/Requirements\nSedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
