The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in testing web and mobile applications, API validation, database testing, and defect management. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly applications.\n\nThe candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions: \ndetail-oriented\nTest Planning and Execution: \nAnalyse business requirements and technical specifications to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.\nExecute functional, regression, system, UI, smoke, and sanity testing for web and mobile applications.\nPerform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure compatibility and a consistent user experience.\nIdentify test coverage gaps and ensure complete validation of application features.\n\nAPI and Database Testing: \nPerform REST API testing using Postman, including validation of requests, responses, headers, authentication, and environments.\nValidate backend data integrity by writing and executing SQL queries on MySQL/PostgreSQL databases.\nEnsure accurate data flow between frontend and backend systems.\n\nDefect Management and Collaboration: \nIdentify, document, prioritise, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms.\nCollaborate with development teams to reproduce issues and verify bug fixes.\nParticipate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.\n\nUser Acceptance and Exploratory Testing: \nConduct exploratory testing to identify usability, functional, and edge-case issues.\nSupport User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release validation activities with stakeholders.\nEnsure production readiness by validating critical business workflows before release.\n\nThe core requirements for the job include the following:\n\nPerformance Testing (Preferred): \nBasic understanding or hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6 or Locust will be an added advantage.\n\nRequired Skills: \nManual Testing: Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, and UI Testing.\nAPI Testing: Postman, REST API Validation, Collections, Assertions, Authentication, and Environment Management.\nDatabase Testing: SQL query writing, data validation using MySQL/PostgreSQL.\nDefect Tracking Tools: JIRA, TestRail, and similar bug tracking and test management tools.\n\nAgile Methodology: \nExperience working in Scrum or Kanban environments.\nStrong understanding of Agile QA processes.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \nBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.\nAbility to work independently in a
