You bring sound judgment, work independently, and raise the standard for the team around you.\nThe Role\nYou bring deep, hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness are non-negotiable. You partner directly with the Controller, make sound calls on technical accounting questions, and escalate complex issues with a recommended resolution. You bring the same rigor to compliance as you do to core accounting operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonth-End Close & General Ledger\nOwn the execution of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries, consistently meeting close deadlines with minimal oversight\nOwn the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded, properly supported, and classified in accordance with GAAP\nOwn balance sheet account reconciliations each period, investigating discrepancies to root cause and resolving them before financial statements are finalized\nFinancial Reporting\nPrepare audited financial statements and related schedules in accordance with GAAP, serving as a primary contact for external auditors and ensuring all supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and audit ready\nPrepare period-over-period analyses and key account commentary for management reporting, explaining significant variances and their drivers\nPrepare monthly expense reporting for senior management\nAccounting Operations\nApply and help enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial records\nIdentify, recommend, and implement process improvements across the close cycle to increase efficiency and accuracy, in partnership with the Controller\nOwn schedules and reconciliations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets, ensuring proper recording each period\nResearch and document accounting positions on non-routine transactions, escalating complex issues to the Controller with a recommended resolution\nPayment Processing\nOwn administration of sales incentive plans (SIPs) and commission programs, including calculating payouts, maintaining plan documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate distribution\nMaintain payroll records, reconcile payroll accounts, independently resolve discrepancies and issues, and process payroll as needed\nTax, Compliance & Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and internal policies and procedures\nAssess financial risks and internal controls, flagging gaps and recommending and implementing enhancements\nLead audit support for internal and external audits, including preparing documentation, addressing auditor inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations\nManage the accurate calculation and remittance of federal, state, and local taxes, including multi-state tax registrations, and stay current on changing state tax requirements\nCross-functional Collaboration\nPartner with Operations, HR, Legal, and the senior leadership team to support business initiatives and resolve financial-related issues\nShare technical knowledge and best practices with teammates, and help onboard new accounting staff as needed\nPerform other related role responsibilities as assigned\nRequirements\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nAdvanced working knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance standards, with sound judgment applying them to non-routine transactions\nHands-on experience with payroll processing software and strong working knowledge of payroll tax regulations\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications (NetSuite preferred)\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose root causes and deliver high-quality results independently\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior leadership and external auditors\nAbility to prioritize competing deadlines, work independently, and build collaborative relationships in a fast-paced, high-energy environment\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance\n8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting\nDemonstrated experience owning the month-end close and preparing audit-ready financial statements\nCPA strongly preferred\nReporting Structure\nThis role reports to the VP of Finance & Controller.\nBenefits\nAdditional Information\nOnMed provides a competitive salary and benefits package, including unlimited PTO and paid holidays.\nThe base salary range for this role is between $115,000 - $125,000, commensurate with the candidate's experience.\nOnMed is a proud equal opportunity employer.
