Construction Safety Officer
Job Description:
Are you a veteran of the construction site and champion of safety? Onni Contracting is looking for an individual who will provide health and safety leadership and promote a culture of health and safety commitment to our site. We are looking for an ambitious, organized, individual with an above-standard attention to detail to see perfectly executed finishes.
This position will be responsible for working on construction project sites, assisting the Superintendent with labour work and fulfilling First Aid and Safety requirements for a high-rise development project for the upcoming project in Port Coquitlam, Freemont.

What you will do
- Opening and closing a site
- Perform any manual labour (clean up, sweeping, packing materials, etc.)
- Organize areas
- General construction maintenance
- All other duties assigned by Project Managers/Site Superintendents
- Daily safety site inspections
- Weekly/monthly reporting
- Provide site safety orientations for all visitors to the site
- Attending to any injuries on-site and providing appropriate treatment
- Reporting any injuries, near misses or hazards on site
- Provide inventory control of the first aid station and supplies
- All other duties as assigned
What you bring
- 2-years’ experience on construction sites
- Current OFA2 or OFA3 Certification
- Valid Fall Protection Certification or willingness to get
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physical capability to safely perform work onsite
- Punctual,dependableand hardworking
Salary Range:
$30 - $35/hr
