As a Foreman you will play a key role in leading field crews across our construction projects, overseeing daily site operations, and ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to Onni’s quality standards. Please provide your availability when applying and we will do our best to\naccommodate.\nThis will be for our project location in Vancouver, BC.\nPerks:\nCompetitive pay & a Comprehensive Benefits Package.\nBenefits include company-paid extended health care, dental care, vision care, life insurance, critical illness, and critical life insurance.\nAnnual Education Allowance\nGenerous Referral Program\nFun & collaborative company culture with lots of team building events\nLocal discounts to restaurants, clothing stores, personal training, and more\nFree access to a fully equipped gym\nFriends and Family rates for hospitality brands\nWhat You Will Do:\nProvide leadership and direction that results in a safe work procedures for the safety of the crews accepting the importance and legal liability of the role\nUnderstand the requirement of and liabilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act\nParticipate in and monitor “Safety tool box meetings”\nEnsure the construction site meets all safety standard per WCB and Onni requirements\nLiaison between Onni and the sub-trades, suppliers and workers to ensure that the project is built to Onni’s drawing specifications\nRead specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures;\nUsing best efforts to resolve disputes between the various sub-trades, workers and suppliers and to alert Onni forthwith in writing in the event that at builder’s lien in filed or threatened to be filed with respect to the Site\nOverseeing all site activities by all sub-trades each day\nTo ensure the accuracy of installation of each sub-trade as it pertains to the construction drawings and scope of work for that particular subtrade\nEstimate the materials and issue work orders to complete jobs\nOrder manpower as required and approved by Onni\nCoordination of all sub-trades as a whole\nMaintaining the construction schedule and work efficiency over the course of the entire duration of the project\nCoordinating inspections with the municipal building department having jurisdiction in the area including the final occupancy inspections\nCoordination of inspections with the municipal building department having jurisdiction in the area including the final occupancy inspections\nCompleting monthly progress reports for each trade on the Site and submitting a copy to the Project Manager within seven days after the end of the previous month\nCommunicating on a daily basis with the Project Manager appointed by Onni regarding any concerns, discrepancies, additions, or alterations that may arise during the course of construction to a building or areas affected by a building on the Site\nIssuing work orders “back charges” to any and all trades that are delinquent in their areas of responsibility, as it pertains to their individual contract and scope of work\nDiscussing any additional work “extras” with the Project Manager appointed by Onni before issuing any work orders for “extras”\nFill out daily field reports keep a written daily long of all site activity\nTo construct Tenant Improvements where required\nEnsures all finishes work is to Onni and industry standards\nSchedule trades to meet Onni’s set out schedules\nTo implement quality control:Ensure building finishes meet or exceed industry standards at construction stage;\nEnsure building finishes meet Onni standard at completion stage;\nPerform regular frame check;\nPerform regular electrical/mechanical check; and\n\nOther duties as assigned by the Project Managers\nWhat you bring:\nA high school diploma or equivalent is required\nStrong knowledge of construction methods\nEffective communication skills\nExcellent problem solving skills\nAbility to manage work schedules, deadlines, and timely tasks A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required\nExcellent attention to detail\nEffective time management skills\nStrong Communication skills\nAt least 3-5 years of construction experience\nAbout the Company:\nFor over half a century, Onni has been building communities for people to live, work, and play.
