In addition, we offer:\n401(k) match\n3 weeks PTO\nAnnual education allowance of up to $1000\nReferral program\nResidential housing discount after 1 year of continuous employment\nFriends and Family rates for Hotel Properties throughout the company\nWhat You Will Do\nSafety Program Development & Management\nDevelop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans for each assigned multifamily mid-rise and tenant improvement project\nMaintain and update Onni's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) in accordance with Cal/OSHA requirements\nDevelop and manage site-specific Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fall Protection Plans\nEstablish and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for all major construction activities\nImplement Onni's corporate safety policies and procedures across all active job sites\nCoordinate with insurance carriers on Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) or Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) requirements when applicable\nField Safety Oversight - Multifamily Mid-Rise Projects\nConduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections on multifamily mid-rise construction sites (Types III and V wood-frame, podium concrete)\nOversee critical safety operations, including scaffolding, fall protection, crane operations, excavation, shoring, and material handling\nCoordinate with building operations to ensure occupied-building safety protocols are followed\nManage life-safety systems during construction, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and egress protection\nEnsure proper containment of construction dust, debris, and hazardous materials in occupied buildings\nCoordinate after-hours work permits, noise mitigation, and building tenant coordination\nSubcontractor Safety Management\nReview and approve subcontractor safety plans, insurance certificates, and safety qualification documentation prior to mobilization\nVerify subcontractor OSHA training records, competent person designations, and required certifications\nConduct pre-mobilization safety orientations for all subcontractor workers\nEnforce subcontractor compliance with Onni's safety standards; issue safety violations and stop-work orders as needed\nHold subcontractors accountable for their crews' safety performance and reporting requirements\nTraining & Safety Culture Development\nConduct new hire and subcontractor safety orientations for all workers on assigned projects\nDeliver targeted safety training on high-hazard activities (fall protection, silica, heat illness, crane signaling, etc.)\nProvide safety training and communication as needed to reach all field workers\nChampion a proactive safety culture through recognition programs, near-miss reporting, and worker engagement\nCoordinate specialized training programs (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER as applicable)\nIncident Management & Investigation\nRespond immediately to all workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses on assigned projects\nLead root cause investigations for incidents; develop and implement corrective action plans\nComplete OSHA 300 logs, Cal/OSHA reporting, and workers' compensation documentation in a timely manner\nRegulatory Compliance & Documentation\nEnsure compliance with all federal OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Cal/OSHA standards, including Heat Illness Prevention (T8 CCR §3395), Silica Rule, and Fall Protection standards\nComplete and maintain required safety documentation, permits, and inspection records\nCoordinate with Cal/OSHA during inspections and respond to any citations or complaints\nEnsure proper posting of all required safety notices, permits, and OSHA documentation at each job site\nReporting & Analytics\nTrack safety KPIs, including TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate), DART, and near-miss reporting\nPrepare monthly safety reports for construction leadership and executive team\nAnalyze incident trends to identify systemic issues and develop preventive strategies\nPresent safety performance data at project meetings and executive reviews\nMaintain project-specific safety scorecards and benchmarks\nVendor, Regulatory & Community Coordination\nCoordinate with Cal/OSHA representatives during site inspections\nInterface with local fire departments, building departments, and municipal inspectors as needed\nWhat You Bring\nB.S. Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or related Field.\nConstruction Health & Safety Tech. Certification (CHSR) an asset.\nAuditor certificate an asset.\n5+ years of construction or property management experience.\n3+ years of safety management and training experience.\nSolid understanding of OSHA and industry specific regulations.\nMust have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.\nSolid written and verbal communication skills.\nOnni Contracting Inc.
