Onsemi is an American semiconductor company that was spun out of Motorola in 1999 and has since narrowed itself from a broad commodity chip supplier into a focused power and sensing business. Its silicon carbide and silicon power devices go into electric vehicle traction inverters, chargers and industrial drives, while its image sensors are used in automotive cameras and industrial vision, and it has deliberately exited lower-margin product lines to concentrate on these markets. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and listed on Nasdaq, it owns its own silicon carbide substrate manufacturing to secure supply.

- ESD Characterization: Perform component-level ESD testing, including Human Body Model (HBM) and Charged Device Model (CDM), using automated test equipment.
- Latchup Testing: Conduct Latchup testing per JEDEC standards (e.g., JESD78) to identify functional failures or permanent damage caused by parasitic structures.
- Data Analysis: Monitor tests in progress, collect raw data, and provide initial reports on pass/fail criteria and unexpected electrical behavior.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting of ESD simulators and Latchup testers to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of test setups, board configurations, and failure symptoms for the engineering team.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a semiconductor lab environment or reliability testing facility.
- Technical Skills: * Hands-on experience with ESD simulators and Latchup test systems (e.g., Thermo Fisher, MK, or similar).
- Familiarity with JEDEC/ESDA standards for component reliability.
- Ability to read schematics and use standard lab tools (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Curve Tracers).
- Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical training).
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong safety mindset when handling sensitive components, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
