vision, strategy, operating model, and governance framework for Agentic AI across the semiconductor design lifecycle, enabling AI-assisted and AI-driven development of analog, mixed-signal, power management, sensing, memory, verification, layout, test, packaging, and system architectures.\nThe role will serve as the executive authority for Agentic AI Design Engineering and will lead the transformation of semiconductor development workflows through reusable AI agents, advanced reasoning systems, design knowledge repositories, and AI-enabled engineering methodologies.\nSuccess in this role will materially improve engineering productivity, accelerate product development cycles, increase IP reuse, enhance design quality, and establish onsemi as an industry leader in AI-enabled semiconductor development.\n Key Responsibilities\nDefine Enterprise AI NPD Vision\nDevelop and execute the long term strategy for Agentic AI-enabled semiconductor product development.\nCreate the roadmap for AI deployment across product planning, architecture, design, verification, physical implementation, characterization, test, reliability, applications, and documentation.\nDefine the maturity model for AI-assisted, AI-enabled, and AI-native development methodologies.\nEstablish objectives, success metrics, and business outcomes tied to engineering productivity and NPD execution.\nBuild the Agentic Design Platform\nLead creation of an enterprise Agentic AI framework supporting:Analog design agents\nDigital design agents\nVerification agents\nLayout agents\nTest engineering agents\nApplications engineering agents\nDocumentation and requirements agents\nProgram management agents\n\nDefine standards for agent architecture, interoperability, orchestration, security, and lifecycle management.\nPartner with engineering, CAD, IT, and infrastructure teams to deploy scalable AI design environments.\nGovern AI Agents as Strategic IP\nEstablish companywide governance for AI agents and engineering knowledge assets.\nDevelop processes for agent qualification, validation, release, version control, maintenance, retirement, and reuse.\nCreate an \"Agent Library\" and corporate repository of approved agents, prompts, workflows, and design knowledge.\nDefine review and approval processes for new internally developed agents.\nEnsure cross division reuse of agents.\nTransform Analog and Digital Design\nDefine AI-enabled methodologies across:Circuit design\nArchitecture exploration\nRTL development\nVerification\nPhysical design\nDevice characterization\nDesign reviews\nFailure analysis\nDocumentation generation\n\nDrive deployment of AI workflows into production engineering environments.\nIdentify high-value use cases capable of delivering significant improvements in development cycle time, engineering efficiency, and design quality.\nCreate the AI Governance Operating Model\nDefine AI governance policies for engineering workflows.\nEstablish standards for:Model selection\nTraining data usage\nIntellectual property protection\nSecurity and access controls\nHuman-in-the-loop decision processes\nValidation requirements\nAuditability and traceability\n\nEnsure responsible deployment of AI systems across engineering organizations.\nDrive Measurable Business Outcomes\nEstablish KPI frameworks measuring:NPD cycle time\nDesign productivity\nEngineering efficiency\nAgent reuse rates\nAI adoption\nDesign quality improvements\nVerification coverage improvements\nIP creation velocity\n\nDeliver measurable improvements in development throughput and engineering effectiveness.\n Required Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.\n15+ years of semiconductor industry experience.\n10+ years of leadership experience in product development, EDA, design methodology, CAD, semiconductor software, or AI-enabled engineering environments.\nDeep understanding of semiconductor development workflows including:Analog design\nDigital design\nVerification\nPhysical design\nDesign automation\nSemiconductor manufacturing flows\n\nExperience leading complex cross-functional engineering organizations.\nProven ability to influence executive leadership and drive organizational transformation.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field.\nExperience developing AI-enabled EDA tools, semiconductor design automation platforms, or Agentic AI systems.\nHands-on experience with:LLMs\nRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)\nMulti-Agent Architectures\nModel Context Protocol (MCP)\nWorkflow Orchestration Platforms\nReinforcement Learning\nAI Copilots\nKnowledge Graphs\n\nBackground in organizational AI transformation programs.\nonsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $216,775.00 to $390,195.00 Range exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
