Structured programs such as rotational field sales and finance analyst tracks offer additional career pathways for interns transitioning into full-time roles.\n The Device Characterization Engineering Intern will support semiconductor device characterization and yield improvement activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The intern will work alongside Device, Integration, Probe/Test, and Process Engineering teams to analyze electrical test data, identify device and process-related performance trends, and develop data-driven approaches to improve product yield and manufacturing performance.\nThe role provides hands-on exposure to semiconductor device behavior, electrical characterization, wafer-level test data, statistical analysis, and structured problem solving.\nResponsibilities\nAnalyze wafer-level electrical and probe test data to identify yield trends, outliers, and systematic performance signatures.\nPerform data mining and statistical analysis to correlate electrical characteristics with process, device, and manufacturing variables.\nSupport characterization of semiconductor devices across operating conditions and manufacturing variation.\nInvestigate electrical parameters and device performance distributions to identify opportunities for yield improvement.\nDevelop analytical models, visualizations, or automated methods to improve detection and understanding of device and yield trends.\nWork with Device, Integration, Probe/Test, and Process Engineering teams to investigate manufacturing and product performance issues.\nApply structured problem-solving methods to identify potential drivers of electrical performance variation.\nSummarize technical findings and communicate conclusions and recommendations to engineering teams.\nComplete an internship project with a defined technical deliverable demonstrating measurable improvement or new insight into device/yield performance.\n Qualifications - External\nRequired\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering\nJunior or senior undergraduate standing preferred.\nCoursework or fundamental understanding of semiconductor devices and basic electrical characteristics.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExperience analyzing technical or quantitative data.\nAbility to communicate technical results clearly and work effectively across engineering disciplines.\nPreferred\nFamiliarity with MOSFETs, semiconductor device physics, or electrical characterization.\nExposure to statistical analysis, semiconductor manufacturing, wafer probe/test, or yield engineering.\nExperience with Python, MATLAB, JMP, Excel, or similar data-analysis tools.\nFamiliarity with data visualization, statistical modeling, or machine-learning techniques.\nonsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $26.00 -$44.00 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
