Supply and Inventory Planner

Position Overview

The Supply and Inventory Planner owns the end-to-end supply chain for assigned product portfolios and serves as the primary supply point of contact between Business Units (BUs), Division and P&L owners, and Supply Chain. The role advocates for BU priorities while translating supply chain activities, constraints, issues, and achievements into actionable business language for stakeholders, and translating BU needs back into executable supply actions.

This role partners closely with Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, Procurement, External Manufacturing, factories, and BU stakeholders to align Demand/Supply Signals, maintain appropriate inventory and build-category targets, drive allocation and EOL execution, manage lead time recommendations, and resolve issues that affect revenue, inventory, customer experience, and margin.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end supply chain for assigned product portfolios and act as the Business unit supply interface with Division, P&L Owners, Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, Procurement, External Manufacturing, factories, and other required partners.
• Translate supply chain activities, risks, constraints, and achievements into BU-relevant business language, and convert BU priorities into executable supply planning actions.
• Partner with demand planning counterparts to keep Demand/Supply Signals aligned through the S&OP process and to communicate constraints, trade-offs, and decision needs clearly.
• Balance the supply planning “Iron Triangle” of service level, inventory, and capacity / fab utilization accuracy, with explicit attention to revenue readiness, inventory health, customer experience, and margin impact.
• Evaluate demand signals and make or recommend wafer-start decisions that support revenue fulfillment while managing loading, utilization, inventory, and customer commitments.
• Identify and close supply-demand mismatches through starts, build-category actions, allocation recommendations, expediting / de-expediting, factory coordination, or BU escalation as appropriate.
• Plan, manage, and set inventory and build-category targets; optimize strategic inventory in alignment with BU forecast, business plans, service-level expectations, and inventory health objectives.
• Coordinate allocation processes by recommending allocation logic based on BU strategy, setting up allocation in planning systems, monitoring allocation performance, and driving closure until constraints are resolved.
• Execute product transfers and manage suggested End of Life devices in coordination with BU stakeholders, factories, planning teams, and other functional partners.
• Drive strategic builds and factory filler opportunities where they improve revenue readiness, inventory optimization, factory utilization, or strategic BU objectives.
• Manage lead time recommendations based on system-calculated lead time, market trends, capacity / loading realities, and BU decisions regarding what is published to the market.
• Provide BOQ supply input and coordination; advocate for BU supply needs and drive / support supply reviews at PAL2 and Division levels.
• Work with Procurement and External Manufacturing on external capacity negotiations or renegotiations, including communicating supply constraints, demand outlook, and business priority trade-offs.
• Escalate and resolve issues that threaten revenue, OTD, inventory targets, margin, or customer commitments, using cross-functional coordination and clear decision framing.

• Revenue readiness / ability to support demand with finished goods availability
• Inventory Days (DIOH) and inventory health (% of total gross inventory considered healthy)
• S&OP accuracy
• Lead time vs. target / published lead time alignment
• Loading / capacity / fab utilization accuracy and wafer-start alignment to demand plan
• OTD and broader customer-experience measures, including First Promise, Customer Request, and Leadtime OTD where applicable
• Compliance with allocation plan and effectiveness of allocation closure
• Supply Transfer Strategy, on-time percentage
• Margin awareness through product mix and supply-generation decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, operations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in complex supply chain planning organizations; semiconductor industry experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to connect demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and business-priority signals.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to translate supply chain details into clear business impacts and decision points.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and drive resolution of urgent supply, customer, or revenue risks.
• Experience with inventory control, allocation, lead time management, S&OP, capacity planning, or end-to-end supply planning processes.
• Proficiency with relevant planning, reporting, and analytics tools. Experience with JDA / Blue Yonder planning systems in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
