As part of a team, you will be responsible for the development of processes across the full software development lifecycle, from business ask through to production implementation in support of the Member Services strategic initiatives.\nWho you'll work with\nThe Member Services Product Engineering team is comprised of software developers and testers operating in several agile delivery squads. As part of one of those squads, you will work collaboratively in a cross-functional agile team to bring new features and platform enhancements from conception to release by interacting with product owners, consumers, and external product and delivery teams.\nWhat you'll do\nImplement high quality and well-designed systems under the direction of a supervisor or project leader.\nDevelop personal plans and the task details appropriate for the on-time completion of all work assignments.\nParticipate in the project planning of software development tasks, testing, deployment and maintenance.\nMaintain currency in technological trends and directions through research/education/self-motivated technology experimentation.\nStrive to evolve our technical environment and practices.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat you'll need\nComputer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent education.\nMinimum 5 years of experience using current software development techniques.\nExtensive experience with programming languages and frameworks such as Java and Spring Framework (Spring Core/ Spring Boot).\nExperience with development tools such as IDEs, Git, Maven and CI servers.\nExperience working with SOAP and RESTful Web Services development and/or front-end single page applications interacting with back-end web APIs or microservices.\nExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases.\nExperience with testing strategies including unit, integration and end-to-end testing.\nExperience working with cloud-deployed enterprise applications, including design, technical maintenance and upgrades.\nExperience working collaboratively in an agile process environment.\nExperience with GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Jenkins, Sonar.\nExperience with Business Process Automation / workflow / orchestration technologies\nExperience integrating internal components with 3rd party technologies\nExperience with application security.\nExcellent organizational, analytical and complex problem-solving skills. \nAbility to communicate and interact effectively with technical professionals, as well as users who are non-technical experts. \nAbility to work independently, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and produce an adequate volume of work. \nAbility to work and collaborate well in an agile project team.\nResourcefulness, creativity, good judgement, consulting and documentation skills.\n#LI-OTPP, #LI-AP1\nWhat we’re offering\n\nThis position is eligible for base salary and annual incentive based on individual and enterprise performance. \n\nBase Salary starting at $112,300 to $122,300 with future opportunity of up to $133,900.Numerous opportunities for professional growth and development\n\nComprehensive employer paid benefits coverage\n\nRetirement income through a defined benefit pension plan\n\nThe opportunity to invest back into the fund through our Deferred Incentive Program\n\nA flexible work environment combining in office collaboration and remote working\n\nCompetitive time off\n\nOur Flexible Travel Program gives you the option to work abroad in another region/country for up to a month each year\n\nEmployee discount programs including Edvantage and Perkopolis\n\nAt Ontario Teachers', diversity is one of our core strengths.
