You'll be responsible for notifying the supervisor to receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to meet the expectations of our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). You will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward.\nOur Deerpark, TX Laboratory is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Receiving Technician to join our team.\nThe compensation range for this role is $20 - $22/hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.\nSchedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday\nTo thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:\nReceives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs\nPerforms data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)\nLabel sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests. \nAssists in sample bottle preparation\nAssists in sample management/archiving and disposal\nAssists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed\nAssists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed\nParticipates in focus teams to improve efficiency\nComply with our Quality Assurance Program \nComply with our Health and Safety Plan\nOther duties as assigned\nYour Expertise and Skills\nThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nSome lab experience is preferred but not required\nKnowledge of general lab practices and lab safety\nAble to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)\nAble to work independently and make sound decisions\nWell organized and have an attention to detail\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements\nThe physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
