The compensation range for this role is $140,000 to $190,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.\nTo thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:\nSafety\nChampion and model a strong safety culture.\nPartner with H&S to ensure compliance with company safety standards and employee engagement.\nOperations & People Leadership\nProvide technical mentorship and day-to-day guidance to junior and intermediate geotechnical engineers, geologists, and field staff.\nSupport resource planning and project staffing to ensure effective utilization across geotechnical assignments.\nParticipate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance feedback processes for technical staff.\nFoster a strong safety culture by promoting adherence to health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements during field and office activities.\nSupport knowledge sharing, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives within the geotechnical practice.\nContribute to the development and implementation of best practices, technical standards, and lessons learned across projects.\nContribute to business planning, budgeting, and resource forecasting.\nFoster a high-performance, collaborative culture and address performance issues proactively.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, systems, and governance requirements.\nRevenue & Growth\nContribute to the preparation of proposals, scopes of work, technical approaches, and cost estimates for geotechnical and tailings projects.\nDevelop and maintain strong client relationships through high-quality technical delivery and responsive project support.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to expand service offerings and pursue strategic opportunities in mining, tailings, dams, and infrastructure sectors.\nRepresent the company at industry conferences, technical committees, and client workshops to enhance market visibility and strengthen professional networks.\nSupport business development initiatives by identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.\nSupport revenue growth initiatives across the RBU.\nPromote cross-service collaboration to strengthen market position and client delivery.\nContribute to achieving annual revenue and growth targets.\nTechnical Excellence & Project Delivery\nLead geotechnical investigations and design studies.\nReview engineering reports, design drawings, specifications, and technical memoranda to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.\nPerform peer reviews and independent technical reviews of geotechnical designs, investigations, and construction methodologies for critical infrastructure projects.\nIntegrate geotechnical, geological, hydrogeological, and geophysical data to develop practical and cost-effective infrastructure design solutions.\nPromote quality, technical excellence, and adherence to project management standards.\nOversee project performance through reviews and lifecycle controls to ensure quality and profitability.\nAlign technical capabilities with client needs to enhance value delivery.\nAct as Project Lead/Director, SME, or proposal lead where appropriate.\nAct as a trusted advisor to clients by translating geotechnical risks into practical engineering, construction, and business solutions.\nYour Expertise and Skills\nThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in Geotechnical Engineering with a P.Eng. designation (master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering).\nMinimum 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience following graduation, including geotechnical investigations, foundation engineering, earthworks, and advanced geotechnical analysis and design.\nDemonstrated expertise in the design and assessment of shallow foundations, deep foundations, drilled shafts, driven piles, micropiles, retaining structures, and ground improvement systems.\nExtensive experience planning, directing, and interpreting geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, instrumentation and monitoring, and subsurface characterization.\nStrong technical knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, settlement analysis, slope stability, earth retaining structures, seepage analysis, and finite element modeling.\nExperience leading foundation engineering services for major infrastructure, transportation, industrial, commercial, institutional, and land development projects.\nProficiency with geotechnical engineering software and analytical tools such as GeoStudio, LPile, Group, Settle3D, PLAXIS, Rocscience, or equivalent platforms.\nStrong project management skills, including scope development, budgeting, resource planning, contract administration, schedule management, and financial performance monitoring.\nExperience preparing and reviewing technical proposals, statements of qualifications, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineers, project managers, and technical specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and professional development.\nAbility to travel up to 20%.\nA valid class 5 or
