That’s Ontinue.\nRole Overview\nWe’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help build the systems behind Ontinue’s internal and customer-facing experiences. This is not a classic “just build APIs” role. You’ll work on services and systems that power product experiences, investigation workflows, and customer-facing platforms - with real business logic, storage, event-driven architecture, and performance-sensitive data flows.\nWe’re moving fast, and we’re doing it with a strong AI-first mindset. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools, open to new technologies, and eager to help shape a more efficient way of building software. The right person will bring solid engineering fundamentals, together with a product mindset and the flexibility to adapt how work gets done.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild and evolve backend services that support both internal tools and customer-facing experiences\nDesign and implement APIs, event-driven workflows, and services in .NET / C#\nWork with Azure services such as Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and related cloud services\nHelp shape the systems behind products used by SOC analysts, internal teams, and customers\nContribute to backend parts of frontend-heavy product initiatives where business logic, data, and system behavior matter\nImprove existing systems while also helping create new services and features\nWork closely with frontend engineers, product stakeholders, and other teams to deliver thoughtful solutions\nUse AI-assisted development tools in your day-to-day work to increase speed, quality, and leverage\nHelp us evolve how engineering works in an AI-enabled environment\nContribute to our CI/CD and infrastructure workflows, including Terraform where applicable\nPlay a meaningful role in cybersecurity by helping make security operations more efficient and effective in a space that is always relevant\nRequired Experience & Skills\nRequired\nAt least 4 years of professional software engineering experience\nStrong experience with .NET and C#\nPractical experience with Azure and cloud-based service development\nExperience building or maintaining event-driven systems\nSolid software engineering fundamentals, including writing maintainable code, understanding system behavior, and working thoughtfully with testing, debugging, and architecture\nComfortable working in a collaborative product environment where requirements can evolve\nCurious, adaptable, and open to working in new ways, especially with AI-assisted development\nA mindset that combines engineering rigor with product thinking\nClear communicator who enjoys working across teams and sharing feedback\nPreferred\nA degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field\nFrontend exposure or experience working closely with frontend-heavy teams\nExperience with automated testing and test strategy\nExperience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code workflows\nExperience working on product-oriented software rather than purely platform/backend infrastructure\nExperience with distributed systems, microservices, or data-heavy systems\nFamiliarity with modern developer tooling and AI-enabled workflow\nWhat We Offer\nWe have been recognized as a top place to work!
