Based in Tampa, FL, you will serve as the primary technical contact for our customers, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with customer engagement, supporting cutting-edge measurement and automation technologies that drive semiconductor manufacturing forward.\nWhy Join Onto Innovation?\nIndustry Leadership: Work with state-of-the-art metrology and inspection systems shaping the future of semiconductor technology.\n\nCustomer Impact: Be the trusted technical advisor and build strong, lasting relationships with our customers.\n\nContinuous Growth: Access advanced training, mentorship, and opportunities to deepen your expertise in semiconductor metrology and inspection.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide on-site support for installation, upgrades, calibration, maintenance, and repair of metrology and inspection tools in compliance with Onto Innovation standards and service agreements.\n\nDiagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues independently or in collaboration with engineering teams.\n\nManage escalations and critical customer situations effectively.\n\nAct as the primary liaison between the factory and customers for performance data collection, reliability analysis, and satisfaction tracking.\n\nPrepare detailed Field Service Reports (FSRs) documenting tool performance, issue resolution, and installation updates.\n\nDeliver feedback to engineering teams on serviceability, reliability, and installation metrics to influence future product development.\n\nSupport beta programs at customer sites and engineering centers.\n\nProvide technical phone support and participate in on-call rotations as required.\n\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.\n\nAlternatively: Associate degree or technical certification with 5+ years of relevant semiconductor field service experience.\n\nTechnical Expertise:\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex systems in semiconductor or manufacturing environments.\n\nWorking knowledge of semiconductor process and/or metrology inspection equipment.\n\nStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude; electronics experience preferred.\n\nFamiliarity with semiconductor safety, ergonomics, and yield requirements.\n\nBasic software troubleshooting skills.\n\nSoft Skills:\nExceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills; customer-focused mindset.\n\nCollaborative team player with the ability to work independently under pressure.\n\nExcellent time and project management skills; adaptable in dynamic environments.\n\nHigh attention to detail in documentation and diagnostics.\n\nLogistics & Physical Requirements\nAbility to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally; must meet visa and site access requirements.\n\nComfortable working in cleanroom environments, including gowning and use of breathing apparatus.\n\nPhysical capability for manual tasks such as bending, crawling, and working around semiconductor systems.\n\nWhy Join Onto Innovation?\nAt Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter-and so should your well-being.
