Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.\nJob Summary & Responsibilities\nFollow the established Onto Innovation product development process with responsibilities from concept development through to manufacturing release and sustaining of capital equipment for the semiconductor industry.\n\nMechanical Engineering design using precision components custom designed components in complex electro-mechanical systems.\n\nDesign analysis including tolerance analysis and finite element analysis.\n\nDeliver designs meeting schedule, budget and technical requirements.\n\nParticipate in prototype builds, system level characterization, validation and compliance test work\n\nProvide technical support to sales and service teams as needed to promote customer adoption and use of Onto Innovation products.\n\nProvide excellent written and verbal communication of concepts, plans, status, proposals, designs, etc. to hardware and software team members.\n\nResponsible for applying applicable design principles and ensuring the designs comply with SEMI, CE, FCC, UL and other applicable standards.\n\nMust be able to travel internationally to customer sites at least 20% of the time, with additional travel as business needs require.\n\nQualifications\nBS or MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of five years' experience in a product development environment.\n\n5-10 years of Mechanical design experience using 3D CAD software and experience creating part and assembly drawings for production\n\nStrong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals\n\nTolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis, GD&T\n\nKnowledge of common engineering materials and finishes\n\nFamiliarity with semiconductor wafer processing, defect inspection equipment, automated test equipment and/or probe cards is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with relevant compliance standards is a strong plus (SEMI, CE, UL, CDRH)\n\nAbility to study and understand the functional relevance of existing RTEC product designs quickly and contribute meaningfully to support product development and support needs.\n\nKnowledgeable of product development concepts, practices and procedures.\n\nExperience with precision mechanical engineering, motion systems or mechanisms is a plus.\n\nAbility to work in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment.\n\nWhy Join Onto Innovation?\nAt Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter-and so should your well-being.
