The ideal candidate will have a strong background in verification and validation of complex software. You will be a key contributor on a team developing next generation solutions for our Inspection Business Unit. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our products.\nPerform requirements-based and system level testing across projects and platforms ensuring quality and efficiency for Onto's Inspection Business Unit solutions\nCross-functional collaboration with software, hardware, manufacturing and applications teams to validate software\nAnalyze and verify software requirements for testability, clarity and completeness\nDevelop comprehensive test plans for new features and products\nInvestigate, reproduce, log and escalate issues/defects\nDevelop efficient test strategies (test cases and procedures) for the different sub-systems comprising the product\nDevelop and execute automated and manual tests, regression, functional, and acceptance tests\nConduct thorough testing and debugging of software to ensure high-quality and reliable operation\nParticipate in the design and implementation of new features and functionalities\nPerform design/code reviews for automation scripts and manual test cases, collaborating with systems engineers, software developers, and other technical staff\nProvide technical support and guidance to other team members\nStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in software development and hardware-software integration\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience in software development, IT, or technical support services.\nAbility to understand requirements and design test strategies and plans based on those requirements\nProven experience (~5 years) in software testing and/or systems level testing for highly technical applications\nExperience developing automated tests and scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.)\nOn-the-job experience with generative/agentic AI tools like MS Copilot to accelerate and go deeper with software testing\nExperience testing client/server solutions\nExcellent skillset focused on Windows development, the .NET platform (C#, C++), and relational databases (SQL Server a plus)\nExperience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality.
