Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.\nJob Summary & Responsibilities\nPosition Summary: The Senior Development Engineer will play a crucial role in the development, integration, and testing of systems and components for our semiconductor metrology equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing technology in the semiconductor field. The position offers opportunities to engage in engineering design, integration tasks and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. This will require international travel of up to 30%.\nKey Responsibilities:\nIntegrate, test, and characterize systems and components as part of new system development\nAs part of system integration, combine hardware and optical subsystems with software to deliver seamless, high-performance products.\nDesign and conduct experiments to characterize, troubleshoot, and improve metrology performance\nDevelop plans of action, and execute in a timely manner\nGenerate both internal and external technical presentations\nAbility to understand and generate technical documentation for manufacturing and service\nRelease documented procedures through ECO process\nAs part of field support, travel (up to 30%) to customer sites within and outside the US\nJob requires full-time presence on-site at primary factory location\nQualifications\nBachelor’s in Engineering/Sciences or equivalent experience with a focus on Engineering, Physics or Optics\n>5 years experience in a semiconductor capital equipment engineering role, preferably metrology\nExperience in new product integration and development and release to\nHands-on experience in the integration of precision optical and optomechanical components\nExcellent analytical capability for systematic troubleshooting as part of development\nDefine configurable system-level BOMs, establish comprehensive test processes and procedures\nPossess good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team environment\nExperience working on prototype systems in a hands-on laboratory setting\nWhy Join Onto Innovation?\nAt Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter-and so should your well-being.
